This school has a great atmosphere that is student centered. The principal and counselor meet the kids at the front door daily. My kids want to go to school, and have a fun time there. The teachers care, and the work seems to be appropriate and not too much.

Too much bullying at this school and not enough teacher involvement.

I was very impressed with the help I received from the woman at the front office as well as the tour. She answered all my questions, provided me with the school newsletter, information about after school activities, and care options. My neighbors' children attend Fern and speak highly about the quality of education and attentiveness of the teachers and staff. I love that the maximum # of students per class is only 27 which is almost as low as most private schools. Also, since the school was recently remodeled, it looks amazing. There is an entire classroom with computers. I am looking forward to having my kids attend Fern Elementary.

I have one child who recently graduated from Fern, and one is currently attending fourth grade. Fern is an amazing school. The teachers and new principle are the best! Everyone is kind, and caring. It is located in a great neighboorhood, and is in a wonderfull community as a whole with the local library and police station not far from campus. The campus is beautiful with the new building and all the newest technology. I consider the teachers friends over the years, and they are always putting the children first. Cant say enough great things about this school. Go Falcons!!!

Great school, great staff!!! They are focused on the children and learning. They love to have fun while learning and think of it as a external family of kids.

I agree with the comment on the front office staff, they are rude and unprofessional but what concerns me the most is that the lady who is supposed to monitor the children ging in and out is always busy chit chatting leaving the kids to do whatever I don't recommend this school

front office staff is very rude and unprofessional. class sizes are huge 30+ student teacher ratio and children are treated as a number rather than valuable voice.

Fern Elementary School is a Title 1, multicultural school with approximately 500 students. Our main building is a registered landmark. In addition to that we have just added a new facility containing 16 classrooms. These new classrooms are equip with SmartBoards and multiple computer stations and hook-ups. The dedicated staff of educators is continually striving for excellence in learning by developing programs that will inspire the next generation of problem solvers, innovators, and game changers. Our teachers work hard to create, lay, and build a solid foundation of thinking and learning for all students. The Fern PTA (Parent Teacher Association) continues the tradition of a strong and active organization that supports all areas of fun and learning for the teachers and students. Parent volunteers are an energetic and vital part of our school. Together with teachers volunteers support the learning environment for students both during the day and after school hours. This year Fern Elementary is moving into the newly adopted Common Core Standards. As we move forward we are committed to excellence in learning for all.

My family has had a great time at Fern Elementary. We have had excellent teachers that my children have loved and I have appreciated. We like the smaller enrollment and feel like we are part of a tight community of friends. The construction is unfortunate, but the kids are not bothered and have quickly adjusted to the space limitations. I look forward to the new building and many more great years at Fern.

The principal of the school is unprofessional and lacks compassion. She is inconsistent in her disciplinary actions and is unwilling to work with parents when special circumstances arise.

This is the elementary school that I went to and now my niece and nephew are going there. Unfortunately like many schools the facility could use some work but overall I think the children could use some TLC wether it be scool books, a special day for them on or off campus... I just feel that they deserve something special to happen for and to them. Everyone needs to feel special and I think this will help the many children and teachers their. They are remodeling the school cafateria and they say that will be over a year to do. Sadly to say they are having a few different lunch breaks with various age groups and they are not able to enjoy the play yard as they should. Please pick this school...
