Parents of black and brown children please be aware before considering sending your child to this school… I apologize in advance for the long but necessary messages as I feel it is important to inform parents or potential parents of TJA lack of Unconscious or implicit bias training. My children experienced discrimination and racism from not only students but the staff members at the school. We thought we made the best informed decisions for our children education being that it was a “close knit” “Christian based” school. Throughout the school year several incidents occurred that were clearly discriminatory. When I addressed my concerns TJA was very dismissive and in fact turned the tables on my child making her out to be the “problem” when in fact it was ALWAYS the other way around. Shawn(the principal) will talk in circles but never truly address the issue and always seems to be clueless as to what’s happening and doesn’t make fair choices when handling situations. It’s no surprise that they can’t keep their enrollment numbers up on students… It is the expectation that schools teach culturally competent and culturally relevant lessons which I had to request. Oppressed people are not responsible for teaching his/her oppressors how not to oppress. It is THEIR job to engage in active learning and we can’t excuse “innocent ignorance “… Please take the time to do your own research and understand their are private melanated schools that OUR kids can get a good education. We pray for our kids to get a better education in an environment where they’re accepted, loved and celebrated. Peace and blessings to everyone reading this .

My child is flourishing! All of the staff make you feel at home from the very beginning. Every one is so nice and friendly, including the other parents and students. Mrs. Naus, the kindergarten teacher, is amazing! Its almost as if she came to life from a fairy tale! We couldn't have made a better choice! I know my child's future is in great hands at TJA.

This is or first year at TJA, and we look forward to many more! Our daughter has really opened up at this school! TJA is a terrific place for children to learn and grow, academically and in Christ. The teachers (& the teacher aids) truly care about each child. The children receive more one-to-one time due to the smaller class sizes. We highly recommend this school! Please come see for yourself!

The teachers really care what my children are learning. Not only do they provide high academic learning, they also teach friendship skills, responsibility, and teamwork. All of this is provided in an environment that emphasizes Christ and His love for each one of us.

Our children love TJA. They experience Jesus in every class. The teachers and teacher aides genuinely care for all their students. Bullying is not tolerated here. It is a safe place for kids in K-8 to learn and grow.

I've known the current head adminstrator for over 10 years - She CARES about your kids. As a parent of a previous graduate, I was pleased with the training and "love" she received. Ron Szczechowski
