former student at this school, i am now in sixth grade. when i was in 5th, i had multiple girls try to fight me. i had gone to the hospital twice in one school year because no one would do anything. i was bullied and slammed into lockers or beat up on a daily.

Excellent PTA, engaged principal and a diverse student body. My kids really like this school and the teachers have been very welcoming and helpful when I have any concerns.

The students, staff, and family at this school have been failed by administration (Principal and Guidance counselor). The lack of competence both intellectual and cultural on their part is absolutely unacceptable. We parents need to come together stand up and demand better for their children. Teachers are not able to do so because of the fear of just being replaced or pushed to the side if they stand up for what is right. It is up to us in the community to demand better for our children!

we've been very disappointed with Pot Spring, largely because of the lack of leadership from the principal and her uncaring attitude. she's ineffective and I really have no idea how someone so clearly unsuited to the position of school principal is in this job. it's a huge disservice to the teachers, most of whom are great, and to the students and parents. this school would be so much better with a caring, engaged principal who earns the respect of others and who truly wants the students to excel.

Pot Spring Elementary is a great community school with involved parents and dedicated teachers. The vast majority of the teachers have been at the school for years. They know the community, families, and kids and are committed to helping the kids learn. Each of my kids has had different needs and we've had experiences with staff members who have recognized the specific needs of my kids and gone way above and beyond to teach my kids exactly as they needed. One of my kids has moved on to middle school and one is still at Pot Spring. I'm very glad that Pot Spring is our school...I'd send kids there again!

Pot Spring Elementary is a wonderful school staffed with committed, capable, innovative teachers and administrators. Our children continue to thrive and have opportunities for success; extending to our family as the whole community benefits from an active PTA. As for this site's rating of PSE, a number based on an experimental test score is no measure of a school.

Pot Spring Elementary (PSE) has been a fantastic fit for our kids. In addition to engaging teachers, PSE has offered additional learning opportunities for kids working above grade level. The PTA is active and the school hosts many extra events that help build community. School is more than just test scores - and PSE is a great example of how to educate our future!

This is a strong school with an active administration and good teachers. There are lots of possibilities for parental involvement (at home, special events, etc). Test scores, especially the 2015 PARCC ones, are not reflective of student achievement as Pot Spring students were given that test online and other schools were not. The County has assessed the online version and pencil version were not equivalent. Please do more research other than see this grade.

The school is staffed with energetic teachers. The administration has been at the school for a long time and knows each child's name. Students are given hands on opportunity with innovative programs such as the edible school yard. An outdoor learning center was recently built as well.

Great school! Principle and Vice Principle shakes every kid's hand as they walk into school. Music in the lobby for morning arrival has kids bee-bopping down the hall. Staff are warm and they really make everyone feel welcome. The teachers are very experienced and capable. My child has had a great experience at the school so far.

From an educational stand point, PSE is a very good school, with very good teachers. Unfortunately, they do not see the child as an individual, just a potential MSA score, and it shows. If your child needs anything more than basic instruction, they will not get it here. Parents who are not able to volunteer in class are treated like subhumans by the other parents and faculty.

This school has functioned for educational purposes at an above average level for a child who needs no assistance or a lot of assistance. The school is not well equiped to assist those in the middle. The teachers in KG and 1st grade are excellent. The other grades have some strong teachers, but also some weaker teachers. There are many classes per grade (3-5) and with the younger teachers and administration (which is also young and inexperienced) consistency and appropriate enforcement of communication has seemed to be a struggle for many of the parents and families over the last 2 years. After having 2 bad years in a row, we will move our children elsewhere to try to prevent further damage.
