Warren Elementary is just awesome- kindergarten class size is 18 this yr. Teachers and staff are supportive and organized to provide the best learning environment, providing great communication to parents. Demographic student population represents the real world. Many fun activities throughout the yr and the BEST PTO who plan other fun events. Brand new playground. If you are hesitant from past years reviews and the online "rating", don't be. My child has made so many new friends and is thriving because of this school!

My child has been at Warren now 3 years and has been consistently a positive experience overall. The faculty are very dedicated and they have a high faculty retention rate, with many staff members there for decades. The lower income and lower resources available to some students may impact their school performance, but the school community is quite vibrant and they have an active PTO, with multiple yearly fundraisers, events, and fairs. The neighborhood where Warren is located is one of the best in all of Baltimore County with low crime rates and supportive of the school as a neighborhood school, even if their children don't attend there. Our experience has only been positive, including under the new principal. I can't speak to why some of the others on this blog wrote a negative post about the admin as it is essentially the same under the new and old principals. I would certainly recommend this school to newcomers tot he neighborhood rather than paying for a high priced private day school.

Warren is an incredible neighborhood school with a diverse group of students from all socioeconomic levels and ethnic backgrounds. We have been attending since 2020. The PTO is hands-down one of the best around. Given that most parents work full time nowadays, the PTO meetings are offered during the evening and include dinner and childcare. Amazing!!! The PTO offers robust programs year-round like trunk or treat, spring fest, pizza bingo, etc. There is always something fun to look forward to. The teachers are enthusiastic, supportive, and highly experienced and educated. The administration is responsive in my experience and truly cares about making a positive school atmosphere. My primary negative feedback (why my review is not 5 stars) is about the class size, as my kids often have 25+ in one class with just one teacher. I also wish they offered more opportunities to go outside for younger students. One recess for 20 min/day is not enough for a 5 year old. Lastly, the building infrastructure is dated. Luckily we have air conditioning, and the county rec dept. has been updating the surrounding sports fields, but we could use some light landscaping, concrete work in the front of the school and updated tables/chairs in the classrooms. This is all secondary but figured I would share in the spirit of offering a balanced review. We are so happy with Warren and appreciate the teachers and staff who make it a great place to attend school!

This school was a horrible experience! I had a great experience with my older children but my younger children it has been terrible and it's because of the administration, in particular the principal. She is a horrible person who thrives on making ridiculous rules up and not allowing the kids to socialize normally! Classes of the same grade are separated at recess, assigned seating at lunch, most after school or before school clubs no longer exist. Teachers don't seem happy there and are not supported. Instead of dealing with the children who have behavioral issues, the principal just punishes the entire class from any fun activities. After seeing and hearing how neighboring schools operate in the area, Warren is like a prison! DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS THERE! Go to Carroll Manor, Mays Chapel, Potspring, Jacksonville, or just anywhere else! RUN far from this school! The principal lacks basic communication, doesn't communicate important matters regularly, is curt in emails and refuses to address teachers who aren't teaching properly or handling behavioral issues. Principal didn't even notify parents that the long time art teacher was out for the majority of the school year and that there was a long term sub ALL YEAR! Only found out at the end of the school year when my children didn't bring home the normal projects like my older children did at their ages. Unbelievable! The front office staff is RUDE and NOT welcoming! Other schools I enter do not act with such poor customer service skills. One of the 5th grade teachers quit unexpectedly and couldn't last the last 45 days of school. I'm sure it had to do with the principal! Elementary school is suppose to be fun, not a negative emotional drain on your child. Way TOO MANY rules rule rules that are unnecessary because the principal doesn't want to deal with things or find a better solution. Easier to say no than find a solution to accomodate children towards a happy environment. The school is so depressing! RUN don't walk far far away from this school! It's not worth it! Your child and your family will be happy anywhere else in the county! Warren is a BAD school!

My child loves this school and her teachers, the diversity of the student body, their parent support, and the neighborhood community. What the negative reviewers have said on this site I have not encountered. I assume they stem from a weather incident a couple of years ago where a poor decision was made, however the school has been around for fifty years and has a reputation as a solid neighborhood and community school with excellent teachers who stay for the long haul.

Bullying and teasing is acceptable. Students with inappropriate and alarming behavior is also acceptable. Unsafe school environment. Terrible school culture and community.

My family has had a wonderful experience at Warren. Our oldest is in second grade this year and our middle child is in pre-k. I know that people had had problems with the previous school leadership, but the current Principal and Assistant Principal (who started in fall 2019) are fantastic. The teachers and administrators are very caring and involved. Every single teacher that either of my children have had has been great. They go above and beyond to engage kids, even in this pandemic. Warren is a smaller school than many others, so it's easy to get to know everyone. Unlike many other schools, the vast majority of Warren students walk to school. We love that Warren is a very diverse school. Our oldest has had close friends of many different backgrounds and ethnicities. Friends have taught him words in Spanish and Greek and taught him about Ramadan. I realize that Warren does not necessarily have the best test scores around, but it is well-documented that these standardized test scores are skewed against students of color and English language learners. We feel that Warren teaches our children to be citizens of the world and prepares them for life in the 21st century.

Since 2017, it has been absolutely terrible! Before that, we have had a very positive and wonderful experience. Both administrators need to go. They are a very bad fit for the school. There is no trust they would do the right thing in an emergency situation after both admins didn’t heed a recent tornado warning and forced kids to dismiss in downpours and lightening. There have been numerous issues with safety in general, lack of communication and just all around poor handling of all situations.

If it weren’t for the principal, my child would be in a different school. She’s made every attempt to help make my child’s stay at the school comfortable. Thankfully my child has is resilient and has made great strides in behavior and academics.

Our family has loved this school and had great experiences with the administration and the teachers. Our kids love going to school and have developed great friendships. They've also been able to take advanced coursework.

My child is finishing Kindergarten this year and we couldn't be more pleased with Warren. The principal and his administrative staff are amazing. He has returned phone calls and emails to me every time I needed to reach out to him. The teachers are wonderful and I feel they genuinely care about the children. My child is performing above grade level in both math and reading. I love the diversity of the school. The PTA is strong and the school is a very active part of our Springdale community! Couldn't be happier with our decision to send our children to Warren!

The population looks like that of an inner city school? What does that mean? My child currently attends Warren and is not the best of Baltimore County Public Schools but, I think that comment was a pretty mean thing to say. Anyway, I'm not sure how that statement is even relevant. If you don't like the demographics, keep your kid home. Your comment wasn't worth the time it took to read.

This school as poor educational quality. As soon as the new principal took over everything deteriorated. The genuine feeling of helping children and teaching them is gone. The school population now looks like one of the inner city schools. If you can, do not send your kids here. Go to another area or private school. Your kids will thank you later.

Warren elementary school is going down after the new principal stepped in. She doesn't have love with children at all, she just takes the principal position as a job, that's it!!! Also she has two faces, be careful!!!

My daughter was there last year and she loved the school. The teachers were great and the office staff was terrific. My daughter was a straight A student, but I wish there was a more challenging curriculum available. She was in GT. The US Educational system is poor at best, so I can t just blame the school. Some parents were involved and the PTA did a good job. Maybe because of the many diverse cultural backgrounds explains the sometimes lacking parental involvement. I hope my daughter's experience in Cockeysville Middle is at least as good as Warren. It really is what you make of it and how you help your child shape their values and habits with your parental involvement.

I wish that there were a way to give zero stars, but I'll have to settle for one. This school is a nightmare if your child needs anything other than the accepted educational standards. There is absolutely NOTHING to be offered to the gifted child at school, despite the fact that they insist that they have a "GT" program. This school also is the only school in the area that offers no extra-cirricular activities, so if you need before or after school care, your child will be sitting around with nothing to do - the environment is so chaotic that they can't even do their homework. I am moving my family just to get away from this school.
