this school genuinely is such a toxic place to put your kid, everyone is incredibly judgmental and does not let anyone express themselves without putting them through bullying. The teachers are disrespectful and rude, and the staff is overdramatic and think they are above everyone.

I am a student at this school and it has been horrible with kids being bullies to others, even though they didn't do nothing wrong. The staff and students have been horrible oh and even worse don't get me started on the teachers. They are so strict. They're more like my angry mom when they see my report card.

It's very dirty, a lot of the staff i encountered were awful, the kids are even worse. i wouldnt recommend this school, everything is so oversexualized here and kids are homophobic/transphobic and racist. A "matured" girl can't show her shoulders but a guy can wear his pants down to his knees.

I am a teacher at Jacobsen and I think it is a great place to work and learn and grow. I have worked at a variety of other schools and I think JMS does a very good job of supporting student achievement and their overall well-being. I read the previous reviews about what a "bad school" JMS is and I cannot speak to those experiences, but I can speak to the many positive experiences that not only I have had there so far, but the students that I work with. I see a lot of smiling faces that I am greeting at my classroom door and the majority of my students are trying their best to complete their assignments and be respectful to their others and follow school rules. I attend the staff meetings at JMS and I hear about the many positive things that are occurring in the other classrooms at JMS. I do wish there was more engagement with families of our students at school, but I believe it is more about the families that don't make or don't have the time to be more active in their child's education than it is about anything that the school is not doing.

This school is so dirty there are actually cockroaches here. The staff bully the students, speaking of bullies the school does nothing for you if your bullied unless your white and straight. The food here is inedible the meat is hard and the cheese is like rubber, everything else is either burned or soggy. The staff that mainly dress code the students are sexualizing them especially the females that have "matured" faster than others, and just females in general. Lots of students are racist and homophobic/trans phobic. The nurses don't care unless you have a fever or your vomiting. Do not send your kids here they will be miserable.

I have deppresion, anxiety, and ADHD, and this school does NOTHING for it. They say "awh i'm sorry i'll try to remember that!" but they NEVER do. Please just homeschool, it's so much more of a better option.

I’m so glad I’m in high school now. This school was horrible. The kids where mean and constantly started fights. There are few great teachers, but I wouldn’t be surprised if those teacher left to find a better school to teach at. The fun teachers can’t teach and the strict teachers bore their students or have impossible expectations. They attempt to run the school like a prison, but in reality it only makes the kids rebel. I wish I never had to go through the three years I spent there. Honesty, it probably changed me for the worse. It taught me more negative worldly things than it did help me graduate the eighth grade.

This school is a joke. The teachers are nice and all but half of them don't care about the students. A friend of mine expressed to a teacher how much she was struggling with the amount of work she assigned and the teacher told her that she should be able to keep up because other students could. There is a large problem with bulling aswell.

I hated this school and the disorganization. Some of the teachers are jerks to the kids and the security staff are on a power trip and are absolutely bullies.

I hate Jacobsen Middle School. I'm a 7th grade student, and I will admit that I've made dumb mistakes, but there has been a group of people harrassing me since November, it's been reported multiple times, and it needs to stop. I can't think of one person who wakes up in the morning EXCITED to attend this school, because even the honors students refer to it as Hell on Earth. The principal couldn't care less about the students, the counselor just wants to get you in and out as quickly as possible, and the teachers don't listen to the students when they express how much homework they can't handle.

All the schools in Tehachapi Unified are horrible. They don't care about their students or staff. The administration is rude and don't listen to any concerns. Visit the Facebook page for Tehachapi Unified School District and see how many parents really dislike all the schools and this District.

They don't care about the students. The bullying and harassment here is absolutely atrocious. The staff does nothing to help except a few good teachers.
