My two children have attended Golden Hills since we moved to Tehachapi a few years ago. Both have loved their teachers and are thriving. The office staff, administrators, and other staff are welcoming and really care about the students. The school and teachers have good communication. I like the school events, like the science fair, music performances, family math night, and movie nights.

What a horrible experience this last year has been. The principal has a reputation for not following up with anything. If you need support you're better off going directly to the district. My son's teacher was HORRID. So much so that he was pulled from the school and an investigation is being conducted by the school district. I have nothing positive to say. If you have a child with any special needs, find a school that cares. This one isn't it.

We have had a great experience with the teachers and staff. I am always surprised with how involved the community is with the school!

All the schools in Tehachapi Unified are horrible. They don't care about their students or staff. The administration is rude and don't listen to any concerns. Visit the Facebook page for Tehachapi Unified School District and see how many parents really dislike all the schools and this District.

Two of my children attended Golden Hills Elementary and both had a great experience at the school. We were new to the area and my children had only attended private school before moving to Tehachapi. The teachers and staff sincerely cared for the well being of my children and they always felt safe and happy going to school. The teachers kept us updated on their progress and were always available to discuss any academic needs or questions I had. The office staff is always helpful and friendly. The principal has always been welcoming and available. We are very pleased that our children were welcomed and had a wonderful experience at Golden Hills Elementary.

I have two kids attending Golden Hills Elementary. Both children have had a very positive experience. They enjoy attending school, feel safe, have learned much, and adore their teachers.

My three children attended Golden Hills. I have a special needs student as well. I was so pleased with the services offered to my child. My other two students also had great experiences. Both of my general education students went on to middle school and have great success. They were well prepared both academically, socially, and emotionally. They offer counseling for students in need. This was a great support for my daughter after a divorce in our family. The office staff were so kind and showed a sincere caring attitude. Couldn't pick a better school!

I find that our school is a wonderful place for my children. Every teacher they have had has taken a special interest in them. I have received regular contact on their progress. My son who is very strong in math has received special lessons that allowed for advancement. He also received extra help in writing and reading, which brought him up to grade level. It was nice to see music and drama being added to our school this year. I have also been pleased with the proactive attitude the staff has toward improving the quality of education and instruction methods. Thank you for all you have done.

Had my child in this school for 3 years. I had to take her out for safety. She was bullied by a student and punched in the face. School didn't feel this was an issue ? Also the only school in the area that did not do a Bully Assembly? P.T.O. for the year of 2011/2012 received over 20k in fund raised moneys and never put back into school that year. Even teachers requested help and P.T.O. refused everything that year? A lot of the teachers are wonderful ! But they do have a couple that I feel don't want to be there. Also some parent's were bullied. It was reported to the district .

I have not had any major issues with this school and I have two children here. Most of the teachers are very open to parent involvement and is willing to communicate with you. I am not very fond over the new award system and brag tags though. I do wish they would change that back to the way it was. One of the most important things I feel is my children feel safe, they are learning a great deal and they want to go to school everyday. (unless they are sick).

Some of the teachers are awesome and some are horrible. You just have to talk with parents and try to get the best teacher for your child. It is sad that all the programs have been cut. The parents on the PTA are helpful. The office staff and principal are not friendly and can be intimidating at times. My son made friends with some nice children. I wish the class sizes were smaller, 37 in a class is too many.
