Best elementary school in Stoneham. Amazing experience from teachers, administration, to students.

I went to this school years ago and it was the worst experience of my life. I was bullied by students AND teachers. I had some issues with Math and I felt completely unsupported. I remember them throwing a bunch of resources at me that I didn't need which meant I was out of the classroom for a majority of the day. Bullying is a serious problem here as well. I can't stress this point enough: if your child has any type of learning disability this is NOT the school for you.

My son had an excellent experience at Colonial Park. He just finished fourth grade and now moving up to the middle school in September. We moved to Stoneham when he was in the second grade so I've been there for 3 years. They were very welcoming to us when we first got there and Brendan was nurtured as he got to learn the kids, teachers, and principal. He doesn't have any special needs per se, but given I am a divorced full time working mom, we had a lot of logistical issues on a weekly basis and the staff there was just wonderful to work with. We did have a few bumps on the reading levels when he first got there because Brendan would bring home books that were far beneath his reading level. But after discussing with his teachers we got him back on track and he excelled once they suggested better books to him. Brendan developed strong bonds with most of his teachers there. I got involved in the PTO as best I could and the moms were great to work with too. I've developed some really great friends myself over the past 3 years.

Great school, with the exception of the new principal. Wonderful teachers, parents are excellent and very involved.

Great school - Wonderful setting - Very impressive / excellent new principal, great newly hired teachers as of Fall, 2014. Just wonderful!

OK school if your kid has no issues, but absolutely incompetent in dealing with kids with special needs, bullying issues or anything unusual. More like an education factory that pumps out product, no matter if it meets specification or not. You're better off with pretty much any other K-5 school in Stoneham. Needs new management.
