Overall, my family’s experience at the school has been positive. The school’s recent (pre-COVID) focus on community was working well. If I had to do it over again, I would still send my children to St. Mary’s.

I couldn’t be happier with the school. I have 2 children at St. Mary’s currently and it is an excellent school. It is a warm and loving communities. The teachers are very engaged with the students and the principal is an effective leader who is always visible and part of the community. The students are kind and bright. I am happy to be a part of the community at St. Mary’s

My son had attended this school for 10 years and we couldn’t be happier. The school offers a personal touch that I don’t believe you get elsewhere. Everyone is invested in and committed to the child’s education, well being, development and ultimate success. I believe my child will be well prepared for high school when he leaves St. Mary’s. In addition to an excellent education, in a safe, supportive environment, St. Mary’s students also come away with self-discipline, a solid faith and high integrity. You won’t make a better decision when it comes to your child’s education.

I am a recent graduate of this school and I can say that there were many ups and downs of the place. The actual environment is pretty nice, I was there since preschool and had known my classmates for basically my whole life, so I can say that there is a very close sense of family and community among the students. The teaching is not the best. Especially in higher grades (most notably eighth), they try to use guilt to get students to listen and "understand" in religion class. Most of the teachers are good, some are just forgettable and fine, and then others are just plain nasty. Keep an eye out for some of the teachers of the younger grades, because they can be so mean. I remember crying after school because of some of them. However, if you tell the school that you are being bullied, they will take it seriously and work to solve it. They don't just brush it under the rug like some other schools. But art class is a joke and the teacher quite obviously plays favorites, so be aware of that. They do a pretty good job of preparing you for high school by steadily increasing the homework load over the years, but some of the classes just teach the same things year after year and it gets old and no one listens. But overall it's alright and holds a lot of nostalgia and although I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to someone else, but it's god for a good family dynamic with the students, not necessarily activities or academics.

Very poor. It is very interesting on how some parents say very low and some very high. I think that they have a teacher or someone at this school reading the reviews and adding good reviews to keep the school in a good status. All I can say is that the school is losing students every year because they don't offer good service. I feel very stupid that I wasted my money and my time in this school.

Very high. We have been so impressed with this school and with the community in general. The use of technology in the classroom and standard of teaching far surpass the public school Prek in our opinion. We have our other child in the public schools in Melrose and have had several issues with bullying, support services and communication in general. There is also an the insane amount of bureaucracy in the public schools that does not exist at Saint Mary's. You are a person in Saint Mary's and are treated as a part of the community. We love it there and feel like it has been a great experience for our child.

Very low. I had to pay for tutors, extra help and teachers there focus on the minimal of the Common Core Standards. The school uses MAP testing and at the end of the year, the school will send you results in a graph that is not even printed in color and the metrics are not easy to read or understand. For the service provided I think any Public school will do the same or better. This school doesn’t count with a budget to increase programs, labs or enhance the environment. The school without permission sends emails and is very pushy to make parents to participate in raffles, buy/sell candy, event tickets.

Overall, I would rate my experience at St. Mary's as very positive. I feel fortunate that we found the school and made the decision to enroll. My children are terrific students and kind, caring individuals. Thanks be to the school for mirroring what my husband and I teach at home.

Experience has been great. We will be sending our second daughter next year for kindergarten. The dedication of the teachers and the passion they have for the kids is inspiring. While the nine years our oldest daughter had at St. Mary's in her opinion did have it's share of peaks and valleys, the school staff was caring and committed to the children. It is everything we were looking for in a schoold

My son has attended here for the past few years. We are very happy with the school and his education. Class size is small which we see as a benefit for individualized approaches for each student. Recently the school underwent some changes both physically and also curriculum based. It has been a positive change and more modern approach. They are really evolving their school with the times. The school achieved high scores and standings in comparison to other private catholic schools in MA. We are so happy with our experience so far and look forward to continuing at st marys for our sons elementary education

Several years ago my daughter attended Kindergarten at Saint Mary's School. What a dismal and disappointing experience it was. The teacher was beyond unpleasant - she was downright crabby and mean - clearly can't stand children or their parents. The Principal was unresponsive to the situation that was going on. At this point not only have we transferred out, but, of the 15 kids my daughter attended K with , only 3 of the original group remain. THe education is decent but uninspiring and a bit behind the times. K students were at their desks all day sitting in rows producing one work paper after another. The library was a joke-woefully under stocked and many books were outdated. We got the heck out of there and never looked back. As a local preschool teacher , I do my best to steer families away from here. It's an awful place for children to be.

I used to go to school there for 6th grade one year, and i hated it. The faculty was terrible and didn't use any of the money it earned to improve the school whatsoever. The curriculum was awful, too. It has very minimum to offer to the students, and for the whole year i was there i was thinking of a different school to attend the next year. I can find absolutely nothing good about the school, and refuse to recommend it to anyone
