This school is absolutely an awful environment. Ever since I left Northwestern it has made me realize just how bad people get treated here. I was left out of the yearbook my junior year, most likely on purpose (that says something about the type of people that run this school). If you didn't grow up in this school district you will be treated like a nobody. All the parents of the kids who grew up here are cliqish. The fact that they "preach" no bullying is extremely hypocritical based on the way they actually handle bullying (they don't). I DO NOT recommend this school to anyone.

Northwestern was a fine school up until it came time to graduate. I did not attend Northwestern my Junior and Senior years because I chose to pursue career-technical education. The communication between the schools was so poor that I didn't even know about my Senior prom until a week before. I did not know about the senior composite photo until the last day to take the picture. But that is not my point. Northwestern upholds a tradition that academic honor cords may be worn at graduation. All good there, but the cords that I earned academically from Career-Technical education aren't good enough? What? I earned two cords, one for passing my industry certification and one for passing with honors. I can wear neither. I would appreciate it greatly if Northwestern, namely Lori Swafford and Tony Orr, would not belittle what I chose to spend my last two years of high school centered around. When I chose to study Information Technology, that became my curriculum. If I failed the class, I didn't graduate. So, according to Mrs. Swafford and Mr. Orr, I have these two cords which are pointless because they don't fit their definition of "academic."

My child loves Northwestern. I believe that he is getting an especially good education in chemistry, because he always comes home telling me that he would like to get a job as a scientist, and he shows and tells me what things they did in chemistry class that day.

Ok, I am a sophmore at the school and let me just tell you, its awesome! The staff is great even though us students disagree sometimes. There are just one or two impatient ones in the school. I love how if you need help, they try to do their best to help you out (including my Algebra II teacher Mrs. Sroufe). They offer a wide variety of classes (I'm currently taking Spanish, Multimedia, and I'm helping design the Yearbook). The teachers don't except anything but the best and Mrs. Boggess even prepares you for the real world. Overall the staff actually cares about us. I'm glad to say I go to Northwestern, and I hope it continues to be as successful as it is.
