Northwestern elementary school really hurt my son. It didn’t have to be that way. The school is still hurting children just exactly like my son who have abilities that are being ignored. I love children and I will never ever stop advocating for them while they are in very destructive environments. I am stunned that administrators at this school continue to sit back and tolerate it. My son was well on his way to be left out and abandoned in this school. He is now a happy homeschooled child. He was depressed, hated math, and was rebellious while attending Northwestern. The school taught him this garbage. We did not. I am very upset with this school.

This is the worst school I have ever had this displeasure of dealing with. I'm heavily considering homeschooling or moving it's so bad.

My children have had an amazing time at NW. They have had excellent teachers that truly care about what students are learning. It isn’t just about scores on a state test.

This school has become a joke. I hated it when I went, and I hate it even more now that my son goes here. He is struggling with Aspergers Syndrome and we get nothing but resistance from the school to do anything to help him. Bullying at this school was awful when I attended and it has not gotten any better and nothing is done about it. We are changing my son's school this year. I will not leave him in a school that only cares about meeting their numbers. I do not and would not recommend this school to anyone considering enrolling their children.

As an Alumni of the Northwestern School district, I wanted our son to go here also. We thought he was getting a good education, but when we moved to the south, we quickly found out that the education he received, was not at all up to par, which is why Northwestern has a 4 out of 10 Great School rating. They spent so much time on reading, and making sure that our son did well on the reading portion of the State test, that he is behind in everything else. His school in south has a 9 out of 10 Great School rating, and they work on everything, and were shocked that he didn't know the math, spelling, science and social studies that there were working on.

The schools are ok. The bullying is terrible at this school and not much is done about it. Also if your child is in IEP or has some sort of learning disibility this in NOT the school for you. If you were not born and raised here you better not try and come in now. This is not a welcoming community. Good Luck
