Our 3 children have gone and still attend Smithtown Elementary. The entire staff has been nothing but the best. Our 3 kids flourished at this school while getting the individual attention they needed. The school is clean, the grounds are beautiful, the playground is brand new. All of the teachers have been excellent, attentive, and communicative.

This is an exceptional school! I'm so glad my child goes here and wouldn't want our daughter to go anywhere else. I wish I had gone to an elementary school like this when I was growing up. It's sad to see some parents feel otherwise.

The teachers atthis school are lazy and overpaid. My kids grades dropped and nobody care. I know its not just my child problem but everyone is making it my fault, my problem.

My children are in both first, and kindergarten. The school, teachers and principle are excellent. The teachers are extremely well prepared, educated and caring. The principle Mrs. Laverly is warm hearted, intelligent and progressive. I feel the future for this school and the students is nothing short of excellence.

As an UPDATE other readers comments Principal Graf was a great principal but has since left. His 09/2012 replacement Ms. Lavery, (previously Nesconset), is horrific. In her six month tenure she has managed to take all the fun out of being a child in school. I'm a parent and a former student of the school.

Smithtown Elementary isn't just a great school, it is a wonderful community. The faculty, children and parents inspire a true "we can do anything together" spirit. The school stretches the students in their studies... and strongly encourages family involvement in order to create the ideal learning environment. We are proud to be part of this wonderful educational institution where children thrive, teachers grow, and parents are inspired.
