Royal High School is a welcoming space for students and their families. Teachers care about their students' education and their lives. There are many excellent college and career preparation courses. The AP and IB courses are academically rigorous as they prepare students for college. The students can choose from a wide variety of elective courses such as Ceramics, Woodshop and Yearbook. The arts program offers a variety of interesting ways for students to express their talents including performing arts and a wide selection of visual arts classes. For those not headed to college, students can choose from a growing variety of CTE pathways that ready them for careers in many different industries. Royal High School is a GREAT School!

I did not enjoy it here at all. The kids seem to stay in their little cliques and were extremely judgmental when I went here. A lot of the teachers I had we not decent and their P.E. class made me feel like I was in boot camp. This is such a competitive school and expects a lot of people to be into sports, and does not have a range of clubs besides ones that are sports or outdoor orientated.

The teachers at this school encourage you to do your best. There is a wide range of sports/arts and academics that fit everyone's personality. On campus there are many clubs and student organizations for you to be a part of. Overall, this school makes you feel proud to be a Highlander.

Royal has a partnership with the Reagan Library to promote civics educations. There are many guest speakers and field trips. The school offers programs like IB/AP and ROTC. The teachers really care for the students.

Royal High School has options for students that other schools in the area do not. That includes IB classes and ROTC. Royal also has an amazing marching band.

I am currently a senior at Royal and I have nothing but good things to say. When I first entered Royal, my parents and I were considering going to Oak Park or Westlake, but we decided to give Royal a chance. My first year, I was involved in volleyball, band, and a lot of clubs including science club and Key Club. The teachers were really helpful and if I had any trouble, I would go before after school and they would help me with anything I had trouble with. So because of all of these things, I decided to stay. Not only does Royal have many AP classes, but we have the IB program which is the only one in Ventura county and we have JROTC. Our band is one of the best in the county and we have received superiors ever since I was here. Our sports are spectacular, last year our water polo team won the CIF championship, our soccer is amazing as always, our volleyball team is really good, and many other sports are excelling. If you are deciding between Santa Su, Oak Park, Westlake, or any other school, you should at least give Royal a chance because it is an amazing school with motivated and helpful teachers, great clubs, amazing band and choir program, and impressive sports.

My son is a senior this year. During his 4 years at this school he has participated in cross country, track and field, mock trial, and has taken several AP and honors classes. He has been challenged in his classes but with the help of caring teachers and coaches, has succeeded nicely. This year he had the opportunity to travel to Portugal and Spain with his AP Spanish teacher. This was a life changing trip for him. He was able to experience Spanish culture first hand and took every opportunity he could to speak In Spanish to the locals. His excellent teacher and mentor, Se ora Flood, prepared him well. We are grateful for the many high quality teachers who have helped our son grow into a well educated man and good citizen.

The marching band got second place in all of Southern California 2013-2014. The vocal department was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York 2014-2015. The choirs and bands recieve numerous superior scores at festivals. The school in my opinion was always a safe place to be at. I had fun and I learned a lot. I love it here and I'm sad to be leaving soon.

School has 3 different classes in one period for calculus. That is all three classes are going at the same time in the same period with the same teacher. One section of calculus maybe taking an exam while the teacher is teaching a lesson to the other calculus class in the same room. Same is occurring with the French classes. French 2, 3, 4 are during the same period with the same teacher. This must be illegal. This school has really gone down. The administration is nonexistent.
