My family has been at Nolan for 5 years. What a wonderful community school with dedicated and caring teachers! It feels like family, and I appreciate how welcoming & caring everyone is. I’m impressed with all the opportunities for families to get involved & volunteer (PTA, happy cart, helping kids in art and STEM lab, Grandparents day, Veterans Day, field day, book fair, listening to children read, helping with copies, fun run, etc.) My son loves school… especially related arts classes: STEM lab, art, Spanish, PE, library, guidance, computers, and music class. I love how kids support and include students who have special needs. I love how my son exercises compassion, helpfulness, and care with a peer who has Down syndrome. There is a big emphasis on celebrating everyone and making kids feel proud of their unique strengths. The monthly character award assemblies are fantastic! There is a school song & the kids link arms, sing & sway. Kids say the pledge of allegiance every day and the Nolan knight character pledge. There are lots of academic clubs & competitions, chorus, drama, student council, kindness ambassadors, cross country, chess & book clubs. Every child gets to perform annually at a PTA program. My son has been loved, cared for, celebrated, made many friends, and has thrived academically with such loving teachers. I appreciate the strong communication from Nolan. The thing I want the most for my child is to enjoy learning and to feel happy & valued. Nolan does this! Every child deserves to go to a school as awesome as Nolan!

We were new to Nolan last year (2021), with 1st and 4th grade boys. Nolan has very high scholastic standards, which is great. The school should continue to grow as they is considerable new houses getting built nearby. Of note, there is an ongoing local donation fund for the schools in Signal Mountain that helps enhance the quality of resources and tools to the local schools.Other interesting information:There is school busses that pickup kids in the local neighborhoods. The Middle/High School is in same area as Elementary school. The Middle schooler's and High Schoolers are separate, but on same property. The Middle/High schools due to bussing start an hour earlier that Elementary. (Similar to 7:40 AM and 8:40 AM)There is hiking trails and soccer fields on same street as these schools. It can be a bit congested, but the area is lightly populated (12k or so folks on the mountain), so really it is convenient to have the schools near each other. It is a nice slow town with great nearby schools. (It could use the addition of a true downtown, but you can't have everything.)

This is my daughter’s third year at Nolan, and she has had the most positive experience. She is very happy and has learned so much! We are grateful for the amazing teachers and administrators!

This is my sons 4th year at Nolan. All of his teachers have been amazing! They have really helped him through his behavior problems, even setting up a behavior chart and special time every week for him to visit the guidance counselor. Despite his behavior issues he has still consistently read a grade level above where he needs to be and his teacher has helped him find a love for books.

Nolan Elementary is a top notch school in every way. It is obvious the teachers and principal love the kids & take what they do seriously and not only the teachers but the other staff members that have a tendency to be overlooked from the janitors & cafeteria workers to the bus drivers. It's not just a job to them & they show it. The school holds award assemblies to recognize outstanding character traits in the students and the unity I've seen among the kids in these assemblies brought tears to my eyes. The older students are encouraged to step up and take responsibility for nurturing, guiding, and helping to protect the younger students & they take it seriously & do a wonderful job. The teachers make learning fun & it shows in the students. My 1st grade son loves school & would get disappointed when a holiday or weekend kept him out for a few days. I am very honored to say that we are part of this school community and can easily say it has been graced by God. With it's high level of academic excellence, parent involvement in both the school & community, and student encouragement and camaraderie I couldn't imagine sending my children anywhere else.

This school provides an EXCELLENT education to the students that attend there. The atmosphere is wonderful and all of the kids get along well. Everyone behaves very well at Nolan. After recently moving here and my children attending different schools before Nolan, they will never attend another school if I can help it!

My son is in the CDC class (Special Ed). The kids at Nolan always include the CDC kids in all their activities, and have shown more love and acceptance than we could have ever hoped for. The teachers and support staff are great...we are so lucky to have this school for our son!
