We understand that bullying will exist regardless of what school children attend - what we do not understand is why it is allowed to continue after being brought to the attention of the school administration and teachers. The office staff is unhelpful and good luck trying to get them to answer a call. This is a school where the teachers that our children had, one in particular, was simply teaching for an easy paycheck and summers off (my assumption based on her performance). When questioned about their accountability and classroom events, the teacher would quickly changed the subject to "issues" our child was causing in the classroom. These "issues" occured on "many different occasions in the prior weeks" but it was not brought to our attention until we address issues that our child was coming home to tell us about. When speaking with the principal, they principal even agreed that it was inappropriate to address the issues in the manner she did and it made it seem like it was only a way to get the focus off of her. I cannot recommend highly enough to NOT attend this school if you can manage it. I believe that the superintendent over this school however is great and will be working on correcting the issues, but until that time - try to get into a different school.

Awesome, my child has full support for his teachers. He has ADHD and struggles with reading and was able to get extra help and accommodations. Great after school activities too like Spanish and yoga.

Excellent! I wish everyone could send their child to such a warm & inviting learning community! I am very thankful for everything that my child has learned there.

Staff do not take care of bullying issues. If your child is neurotypical then they will be fine. If your child have any kind of disability whether inclusive class or special education prepare to struggle. Problems are pushed under the rug as long as the school looks good to the public. Children with physical disabilities are not even given a choice to participate in certain activities while others they are graded poorly on if they can't complete. This school needs a complete overhaul on teaching staff how to deal with actual children and not little robots that all behave exactly alike.

I have to say I agree with all the comments here...the school does have its good and bad points...my son has been there for this is his 4th yr...he he is in second grade due to being held back for kindergarten but the only reason we are still here is because his kindergarten teacher (2yrs) moved to 2nd grade in his first grade yr and out of 5 kids she is the best teacher I have ever came across! Mrs. Monroe in case anyone is lucky enough to get her as a teacher for your child...I used to love this school until my son started getting bullied all the time and the school does nothing...it was so bad this year 2016 I had to call the police and make a report but the school called the boys together had them shake hands and said they would leave my son alone....talk about an outraged mother...I don't think they take bullying very serious and don't think it is as much as a problem as it is...in fact with in the first month there were 4 issues on of which happened right in front of the principal and she didn't even bother to call me and inform me as to why my son came home bleeding....and my son has ASD and there is not much leeway for him...such as sometimes he can't control his talking but they treat it as though he has done something wrong and punish him rater than understand that this is part of his disorder and deal with it from that perspective. I definitely agree this is not a school for kids with special needs.

The principal is passionate about students and teachers. She believes in her faculty, staff, and students, she has high expectations for everyone around her, and she creates a warm and inviting atmosphere in the school. We love her!

This school isn't a good fit for gifted or eccentric children. I don't say this to be arrogant or to brag on my child, but I don't feel like my daughter is being challenged at all in school-- they're only teaching things that she's known for two or three years. I have to educate her at home because she's bored to tears in school and wants to actually learn something. She has been relentlessly bullied by her peers and the teachers don't seem to even take notice. She comes home every day telling me about all the horrible things that one little boy in her class says to her because she's different, but when I brought my concerns to the teacher's attention, she acted like it wasn't anything to give a flip about. The best I can say is that this is an okay school, and that your child will probably do just fine there if she's a "normal" kid... But for kids who are very advanced or march to the beat of a different drummer, I really don't recommend it.

Our kids went there for a total of 3 years before we moved. I honestly miss this school and their teachers SO much! The teachers are dedicated to their classroom and have a true passion for their school. The principal, at the time, was Ms. Hinton and she was strict, however, a great principal! Samantha Williams, Emily Holloway, Amy Stanley, Rebecca Reeves and Starr Williams proved to be amazing teachers and ones that come highly recommended by me!

My children have attended RBE for 4 years now and they are really loving the school. The staff are wonderful and the teachers work very hard to meet the needs of all the kids.
