We LOVE this school, the administration and teachers know how to really bring out the best in my kids. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants the children to love to learn, appreciate diversity and be the best version of themselves.

There are a couple of nice people that work at the school. Overall, it's not a good school. I would not recommend it at all. Very sad because our kids used to love school before this school year started.

Nieman is a wonderful school with a great staff. Both of my children are doing great academically. Very happy with everything about Nieman.

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! Both of my children attend this school! By far the best thing that has happened to my children. The quality of teachers blow me away. I have not met one teacher yet that has been "a nightmare" Every teacher will smile at you and make you feel so welcomed. If you have a child going to 1st grade I WOULD suggest Ms. Huttie! Nieman Elementary should be thankful to have such a strong, loving, honest, caring, driven teacher as part of their staff. Also, if you have a Kindergartner I would recommend Mrs. Burdick. She is GREAT with her students. makes them feel welcomed, loves them, and will even see them through the "scary" part of school. if you child is sad b/c they miss you she will help them write a letter to you to make them feel better! She has one of the biggest hearts I have ever met. We will MISS both teachers tremendously! Thank you NIEMAN ELEMENTARY for making such a HUGE impact on my children's FUTURE. - proud Nieman mom

My child was very successful at school and loved attending until she started at Nieman Elementary. Now everyday is a fight to get her to go. They use punishment as a way to motivate the kids and it doesn't work. They nit pick on stupid little things like getting a journal signed and punish the kids if they don't instead of focusing on their grade performance. I wish we had never transferred.

My son transferred from his kindergarten year from a wyandotte county public school and i noticed a huge improvement. He is in 1st now and we both think it is a very good school. There are quite a few of school events and they have a great before/after school program.

Nieman Elementary is a great school when it comes to relations with teachers, but my main concern is the bullying. They have an anti-bullying sign but does it help? NO! My child was bullyed and did not recieve any help until I had a confrence with the smsd. I Phoned the principal and never got A call back an email or anything! The students there are rude an disrespectful. becasue of lack of obedience, and while saying the nieman care association "Ive heard myself" children say "Nieman Kids DON'T care,We CAN'T cooperate with others,or act saftly, we will respect ourselfs but NOT others, and will NEVER encourage success for all." Now that is rude and when the pincipal says he can handle it,expect your time to be wasted..Have a nice day...

Nieman is not a great school. The principal, and thus, leadership at this school is VERY weak. The principal caters to only one population at the school and is not very proactive. In fact, he will do nothing if you have a complaint unless you get the district to tell him to do it, especially involving the health and safety of the children. The nurse should be fired. She does nothing for the students and is very dismissive of everything that happens, even when a child is visibly inured. Notifications are not sent home if the children are exposed to illnesses, or even lice, and I am not the only parent who has a problem with this. There are few challenging programs and the principal has never even heard of the AR reading program. The only reason he got a star on my rating was because there is not an option for no stars. They do have a school therapist/social worker who does play therapy, so if your child needs that then that would be a plus. But FYI, just because a school looks new or nice from the outside, does not mean it a good school. There is very little parent involvement, too. I would not recommend sending your child to this school if you can avoid it at all costs.
