The teachers and staff are great in my experience. What I did find is that the school caters to the upper class demographic. We're a middle class family paying tuition here (we never applied for opportunity scholarship) and we don't feel like we're even able to attend events for our child because mom and dad both work full time. Fall Festival? In the morning during work hours. Christmas play? Afternoon during work hours. Award ceremonies? In the morning during work hours. I understand not everything can be after school hours, but come on. We live in coastal NC where the cost of living is extremely high, wages are shockingly low, and there's a huge wealth gap here. We don't own a fancy boutique or live in a home on stilts, and can't afford to constantly take off work to be there for our child, and this is upsetting to our child when we can't attend his events. To make matters worse, the school mostly communicates last minute. Class party? They're asking you to bring something 1-0 days beforehand. It's almost like things are thrown together on the fly and they expect working class families to be able to participate. I work in public school (the free one) and you'd think the school you have to pay for could do a bit better than last minute communication. The public school manages that okay. Lastly, they're going to "money" you to death. Participation is expected as part of attendance, and that's fine, but EVERYTHINGGGGGGG is an extra expense. Books, Fees, Registration costs every year, uniforms, increasing tuition costs every year, etc. It's extremely hard to manage as working class parents and we make over 100k/yearly. We do it because we feel this school is better than public school alternative but without applying for the scholarships moving forward our child will not be able to continue attending. The parents that have left reviews in this thread with multiple children attending at the same time are either part of the upper class demographic mentioned above or their children are receiving the scholarship.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. They truly put God at the center of every decision. I have such a peace knowing my children are being taught strong academics and biblical principals as well! It is a special place!

Trust the negative reviews you read here. They’re extremely accurate. The administration is extremely unkind toward children. Nepotism reigns. Run far away.

We absolutely love this school. My son has now attended the Pre-K program at SCA for 2 straight years including the summer camp and has learned so much in his time here. The atmosphere and the staff are just amazing and he absolutely has loved his teachers, making new friends and learning new things and growing closer to God each year. My husband and I could not be more proud to be apart of this school. Our son will be starting Kindergarten in the fall here and we are so excited to continue watching him expand his knowledge in curriculum and his love for God.

Both of my children attend Southeastern Christian from preschool and now up until third grade. We are more than satisfied by the excellence of staff and the positive, Christian atmosphere. God is first on this campus and the school functions on the basis of truth as stated in the Bible. There is no compromise in this foundation. From preschool and up, the Biblical principals as well as academics instilled are taught without fail. The style of teaching through the Abeka curriculum with Phonetics has set both of my children up with great success in reading. The same goes for numbers, arithmetic, science, and social studies. The elementary clubs have been phenomenal experiences as well. I have nothing good to say about Southeastern Christian. It is a safe place also with certified security and nurses. God has placed this school in our area as a cornerstone to mark a place of safety and as a hedge for our children. Do not miss the opportunity to be a part of what God is doing!

I'm a parent whose four children have attend this school for 7 years now. I could not be more grateful for the teachers, administration, and staff for caring about student and parent needs. The education is excellent and saying atmosphere provided is great is an understatement. Love this place hope to see everyone of my own graduate from this campus! Highly Recommend SOUTHEASTERN CHRISTIAN ACADEMY!

I have three children enrolled in SCA who love coming to school every day! The teachers and administrators are experienced and show so much love towards the children. I know that my children are always in great hands! Academically, their studies are advanced and my children are learning so much!

My student graduated with a High School Diploma and a an Associate's Degree from Brunswick Community College through the program offered at Southeastern Christian Academy. The high school staff is some of the best I have every met. They care about students and make sure they are loved, protected and corrected when needed. I would encourage anyone who is looking for an top notch educational experience for the child to consider Southeastern Christian Academy.

The director of this school is a person you just cannot deal with. The director and her family members are the ones who run the schools operations. My child is having a issue of being bullied and has informed the teacher on many occassions and the director has been informed as well and nothing is never done. My child has come home and told me how the director yells and yells at some of the other studends. The school is super crowded and students are set up to have classes in the formal cafeteria. The school used to be a good school but the director has gone off course. The director and most of the admininstation is out of touch with the students, the teachers are being stressed out. The director will tell you anything you want to hear to get your child into the school and polish everything like it is a golden school when really you the school is pewter. Kids do not go to school to be stressed out, yelled at and certainly no bullied. Ms. Director do your job, I am paying for my child's education, to learn the gospel of Jesus, I am not paying for my child to be bullied, to be yelled at by you or your staff. You Ms. Director need to chill out.

We felt very misled by this school. We were told there was a new school being built for the middle school and high school over a year ago. That still has not started as far as we know. We were told our daughter could take Algebra II but when school started we found out there was only one HS math teacher and our daughter had to take Algebra II online with little teacher assistance. We were also told the 11th and 12th grade would have college professors from Brunswick County Community College come to them for instruction by the principal but then when school started they were just online. When we toured the school we were shown a room that was supposed to be our daughter’s classroom. When school actually started this year the entire 10th grade was in a former cafeteria. The teachers came to them. They did not move from there all day long. They were almost sitting on top of one another. Our daughter was exposed to COVID twice in the first two weeks of school and forced to quarantine. Our daughter had just been discharged from the hospital for a serious illness. Her doctor wanted her to do schoolwork from home for a couple weeks until the Covid outbreak cleared up but the school would not comply. They basically told us if we felt like we needed to find another school to meet our daughters medical needs then we should do that. Our daughter had no medical needs before this illness and was a straight A student with absolutely no discipline problems ever! We basically feel we were forced to withdraw her. Not only did they keep all tuition paid but they also charged us a $500 withdrawal fee. For a supposed Christian School they showed us no compassion or grace! We would never, ever recommend this school to anyone!

This is a place for any student wanting an engaging and true learning experience. My son had been enrolled into public school for elementary and middle school however due to Covid and the lack of in-classroom sessions we as parents felt it best for him to attend SCA for his high school years (at least his freshman year). Initially he wasn’t thrilled with this idea but once he started attending and participating in the sports programs he has informed us he would like to remain at SCA throughout his entire high school years. Several driving forces for his decision to remain at SCA are: the smaller classroom settings and the ability to be in a more intimate learning platform, the caring and engagement from the staff and leaders, the growth of athletics and the ability to compete, as well as being challenged by the honors courses offered at all levels. If I could give this a higher rating than a 5* I absolutely would do so. Thanks for showing what a private Christian school is all about and please continue doing the great work of investing into our children’s futures.

My girls have been attending SCA for three years, and I cannot say enough good things about the school. The children are receiving a well-rounded, challenging education that will more than adequately prepare them for college. They are encouraged in their spiritual walk by a loving and kind staff. They have made fast friends in an environment that is fun, engaging, and positive. They are surrounded by staff members who care about them and work so hard to help them be successful. I am thankful for the school and what it has meant to our family. My kids are absolutely thriving at SCA!

My brother left the local high school and enrolled in this school his Junior year. The impact that SCA had on his attitude, his readiness to learn, and his love for the teachers was great. Before going to SCA he struggled with teachers thinking he was not paying attention. He needed the extra push to make sure he was doing his work. One teacher told us she thought he was not paying attention, but when she called on him- he always knew the answer. For some students the smaller classrooms and one on one teaching works amazing. We loved that they enforced respect for the leaders, and respect for others. The best thing by far is that it is a Christian school that teaches about God. My brother joined many extra curricular activities like basketball, cross country, and was even part of student government. Thanks SCA!!

I was a student in this school for 4-8th grade and i have to say, i want to take it all back. in my final year of this school, me and 8 other people from the 16 person class were outright accused of being a satanist, and 5 of which were given a 3 day suspension, just because we had somewhat inappropriate jokes on a skype group that, as far as i know, we didn't bring into school whatsoever. while another student in the same class less then a week after this happened desided to go into the girls bathroom as a joke, with a teacher in the bathroom, and was only given a one day in school suspension. besides that, almost all of the teachers are uncertified and, without exaggeration, every single assignment, quiz, and test in every grade can be found on quizlet. even though they state they have an advanced curriculum, it felt like we learned the same thing every year, with the lessons being very restricted due to it being christian centered. overall, if you're thinking about sending your child here, dont.

SCA is the example to follow when it comes to Christian education! Our children are driven and motivated daily to excel in every area ! The SCA staff strive to ensure that every metric is met and no child is left behind. They are well more advanced than public schools and that was evident during our own transition from public to private. Our children are safe, well educated, and pushed toward high achievement. God is evident in every lesson and our children cannot wait to see what each day unfolds! We are blessed and astonished at the level of achievement our children master with each semester ! Strong leadership is displayed and exhibited from the SCA staff and also in our children ! Thank you SCA for all you do! There is no other place I would consider putting our children in for the best education experience around!!

I had high hopes for this school. Things fell short when staff turnover was alarming, curriculum did not, and probably still doesn't, meet Common Core standards, teachers are not certified and do not even have to have classroom experience. When approached by parents about concerns, staff and principal were dismissive and condescending. I would not recommend this school for any child.

SCA is a top notch school with top notch teachers and top notch morals and values. The students who attend here are very well educated with test scores going well above that of any public school. If you and/or your child(ten) aren't ready for a challenge, this school isn't for you. To the parent that felt the need to pull their kids out ..... Maybe that Apple didn't fall far from the tree ("SAC") .... May want to keep your kids in there to help them out.

I am proud to say that I have two children currently enrolled in SCA and I couldn't be more happy with the school! My son is fortunate enough to have been enrolled in the school since Pre-K and the things that he has learned far exceeds anything that he would have learned in the public school system. My daughter on the other hand has only been enrolled for three years but she has come so far in such a short amount of time. I was extremely concerned when I first enrolled her in the school because I knew coming from the public school curriculum she would have some catching up to do (and she did) but with the help of many patient and kind teachers she has not only caught up to the rest of her class, she is excelling! The entire staff at SCA have my children's best interest at heart and treat them like family, not just once they are inside the building but first thing in the morning as they stand out in the weather (no matter the condition) to open the car door and wish them a good morning. I would recommend SCA to anyone who wants not only an education that is second to none for their child but also anyone who yearns for their child to have a relationship with God.
