I attended this school for one year before transferring to the South Carolina Governor's School For the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) in Greenville, SC. My overall experience was less than ideal. I met some nice people, but never really felt like I truly fit, and felt judged due to me being overweight. I am a huge orchestra nerd, which was the only thing I enjoyed going to school for, and was honestly disheartened with my experience with the orchestra. You can definitely tell the band gets much more funding, and we were stuck with a college dorm-sized rehearsal space and limited resources and guides for improvement. Otherwise, my teachers were great and supportive, except for my English II teacher, and I had mixed experiences with staff. If your child is huge arts, I'd suggest looking into other alternatives, such as SCGSAH, Grand Strand Charter Arts School, or AAST. Would not recommend this school, and I'm very glad I left.

We moved here, because of this great school. We have sent 3 kids there. AMD love this school. NMB High use to be rated a 9 and then an 8. The have remodeled, but their values are still the same. So idk why it's so low. It should be a solid 8.

This school has the best staff and we are so happy. We moved our 2 daughters to NMBH after living in P.A. their entire lives. WE watched a lip dub video on the school web site and instantly my daughters wanted to be there. Upon arrival, we were not disappointed. Never have I seen a school with more spirit and enthusiasm. The educational environment is top notch and the administration enforces the rules. This school is great and it starts with the principal Mr. Strawderman.
