My daughter has studied in this school since Kindergarten, all the teachers we met are wonderful, I have no other words but thank you to them! And we also agree with the idea of this school, which encourages student to ask and discover, not just pursuing higher test scores.

Great school as far as academics, he learned a lot academically BUT my son is older now and he’s special needs and he was mainstreamed . His mental health was effected , we were part of The founding families and my son now mentions things that happened that were not fair. He would get in trouble and held back from field trips for saying the word stupid. He talks about how teachers picked on him for minor things but other kids would say worse things and not get in trouble. He was removed and separated from his own grade and put into second grade for lunches and certain parts of the day because they couldn’t redirect him . It effects him to this day and it created alot of trauma .

Absolutely one of the best schools in the Santa Clara unified district. And like the other two great schools in the district, Laurelwood and Milikin, CP has a phenomenal staff, excellent teachers, and great programs both academic and non academic. But what separates this school from those two?1. Diversity - far more diversity at this school. Diversity is key to developing broader and deeper views and experiences. 2. Modern Campus - this school is brand new, safe, and updated. The entire campus was rebuilt and heavily influences the positive spirit and feeling the kids get every day they are at school. 3. STEAM based - Large focus not just academics, but activities involving the development of (A)rt and creative expression 4. Parent and Teacher Committees - the school has very strong and supportive parent associations. This framework reinforces a support network across the student body that is instrumental in ensuring every student succeeds. 5. High Energy and Spirit - because of the close proximity to Santa Clara High School, an unspoken sense of spirit and pride is developed in the student body. High School kids often participate in joint programs, kids can take field trips to the campus, and annual parades and festivities (homecoming parade) includes Central Park elementary kids. This spirit and pride manifests itself into children aspiring and looking forward to their continued educational journey.Overall, my kids have enjoyed this school so much. We’ve noticed considerable academic progress and funny enough, they get disappointed when they have to come home. Good job Santa Clara for building an amazing institution.

There is more to a school than just STEAM based learning. You have to take into consideration the entire child, atmosphere, and the learning environment in order to rate the outcomes of a school. If you look at the current test score for low income families they don;t seem to be meeting the current expectations in seeking opportunities to ensure that all students are successful. Low income, disabilities or not each child should be looked and viewed as a candidate to thrive. More work needs to be done in this area and I do not see that quite yet.

The atmosphere in this school is so warm and positive. Staff, teachers, administrators are awesome and students are learning a lot through project-based learning.

This school offers STEAM and PBL with no homeworks approach for K to 3rd. We impressed with the leadership, teachers, and staffs. What a great move for SCUSD to open a brand new elementary school. Keep up good works!

Amazing school. Time has changed from rote memorization. Kids need to be learning through project based learning so that they can apply what they learned. I am asian but after doing massive research I have concluded PBL is the best approach. But I do think kids need some homework, not a worksheet one, but something they can work on such as a project they can keep on building or self interested 1 year optional but encouraged projects etc. Because they will have to deal with homework later and it is better to get used to the concept early. But I do applaud them for not assigning outdated worksheet based homework. That itself is a big deal.

Wow. I've been completely impressed with this school. I am so happy I won the lottery to have my children attend this STEAM school in Santa Clara. Amazing curriculum. Extremely competent teachers. And the environment for learning is second to none. I feel my daughter has learned so much in just a year and she comes home with thousands of questions about how she can make an impact on the world. I have no idea how STEAM has changed her view of the world, but it is an amazing environment. I hope this STEAM elementary isn't just an experiment and will continue to be a part of the school's charter. I can already tell this school will become yet another Milikin in this city.

Its only been a week but I am very impressed. kids are loving it, they have already introduced chrome book in K. teachers are very diligent to update parents on what is going on in school. smart kids could benefit from some additional homework. Love the culture of morning walk in mornings for parents and kids and some breathing exercises. Overall wonderful school with vibrant spirit. Full marks to the principal Ms Kamstra who is super committed. probably one of the best schools in Santa Clara district.

Its been only a week my son has started and he is loving the school. He never liked going to school until he joined central park. He is shy in nature but he has opened up well with the teachers.

Overall great school so far. Hopefully they maintain it and keep improving. The construction work going on is taking long long time, request the school to finish it soon.

My daughter is a K student in this school. So far I feel this school is great. The teacher maintains good interaction and communication with the kids as well as parents. I am an Asian, but I like the diversity here.

Excellent! The school focuses on STEAM project-based learning, and has a nice balance of academics and character building. Teachers are warm, engaging, and communicate frequently with parents. Administration very responsive and quick to address any issues. A real community feel makes this school a fun place to learn. My son loves his class, teachers, and friends and is really thriving here!
