Our child has been in kindergarten at Haman Elementary for two months now, our experience with the school and teachers/staff has been great. Our child has special needs but attends the mainstream class. Though there are very few special needs kids in kinder this year, the teacher(s) has/have been doing a great job educating the kids about inclusion and respect, our child feels fit in and looks forward to going to school. The principle, teachers and school staff are ALL very approachable, they are proud of the Haman community and it shows that they genuinely care.

Haman is a wonderful school with a great staff. We debated at whether to send our son to our neighborhood school and we are so glad we did. The community really rallies around the school and it’s a great environment.

My child attended Haman for two years, kindergarten through first grade. She had wonderful teachers who did an amazing job with the resources they had. I was not impressed with the principal, whatsoever, she was not very friendly or approachable the few times I tried to speak with her or any time I saw her on campus. The families at Haman are great, though it is always the same families who plan and coordinate all the events. We we moved recently and now I realize how much better it is elsewhere!

My son attends Haman elementary school and just loves it. His teacher Miss Dinh really took the time to explain what is expected of our son and the best way to get there. Haman also has a great program called reading recovery and my son has benefited immensely from this resource. My son's reading went from very little, to "I want to read you a book Daddy". We are very happy here at Haman Elementary. Sincerely, Robert Benno

Like many other parents, I was hesitant on sending my daughter to this school based on the "scores". I could not be more impressed with this school! The Kinder teachers are amazing. I am always impressed with how well they really know their students. My daughter has not only grown leaps and bounds academically, but socially as well. She has become so confident in her work. The principal is wonderful and cares a great deal about her students. I am so grateful I did not rely solely on the "scores", and am excited to see what the future holds for us at Haman!

Was very hesitant on sending my child here because I hadn't heard much about it and the "scores" weren't as high as some others in the district-- but so far I am very impressed with this school! The K teachers are excellent! I have been volunteering regularly in class and have been very impressed. There is a real emphasis on reading, writing and math and some very cool science and art projects. If there were a tenth of the parent involvement here that there are at neighboring parent participation schools I think Haman could be a top Santa Clara School!

I have two children who go to Haman and they always feel happy and appreciated there. The teachers challenge the children to help them reach their potential. Some of the teachers do SOAR which is extra help for students who are a little below their reading level to help them catch up. A lot of teachers stay after school to help the kids. Most of them are caring and knowledgable. The STAR testing results does not show how great the school is, since about half of the students are second language learners (It's more difficult for them to get higher scores). Teachers are use to teaching all kinds of students, and have a lot of good strategies to teach them all. My 5th grader is bilingual, and has been advanced in Math and Language Arts since the third grade according to the testing. He had the best teachers I could ask for (he is a smart one too :)) I like Haman and always have been treated with respect. I miss the Principal but I hope everything works out well.

Although our son last attended Haman Elementary years ago, I happen to run into this website and could not help but submit a review for how much Mrs Bicknell has meant to us. Our son was so fortunate to have Mrs. Bicknell as his 4th grade instructor. Her keen attention to her students is tremendous. She saw that our son needed special attention because he was so advanced and needed to be challenged. Together with her volunteers (who we called Grandpa), she had a small collective of her students participate in an advanced program. Our son thrived that year that she was able to cover topics in 5th grade as well. We had to move to another city and she recommended our son skip 5th grade because he was so advanced. We moved to Rocklin where they have an elite level of public schools most of which have reached Distinguished School recognition. Upon her recommendation, we had him skip 5th and begin 6th grade at the new school. He did not miss a beat as he graduated high school at Rocklin with honors and got accepted at UCLA with over 48 units of credit for his successful completion of several AP classes at the age of 16. We are so thankful for Mrs Bicknell's efforts.

My child moved to Haman from a neighboring school when he had trouble and was not supported by the staff. Since being at Haman, he has had only caring, organized, and capable teachers, and has done well on standardized testing. The teachers and staff are bending over backwards to help him reach his potential and become successful socially. I can't say enough to praise the teachers he has had.
