Personally I think this schools pretty good but it suffers from the same issues muiltple other schools deal with as well. Bullying, fighting, and social media harrassment is a daily but its not so much that it effects the everyday student. If your a student at this school and don't want any darma then goodluck. Because your gonna need alot of it if your trying to avoid that side of the school.

My student is in this school. At the end of the year my child's teachers work. They didn't grade my son's. When we wrote them an email they said it was just how it was. We emailed the counselor and she also said all grades were finalized and couldn't do anything about it. With teachers and staff who are so lazy, no one should go to this school. Kids sometimes have tons of homework that is repetitive while sometimes there is no homework for weeks. The teachers say they treat everyone equally but my child says he has head his teacher say to everyone that one child is better than all others. My child also tells me that children with learning differences are kept far away from other children. The only good/okay thing about this school is that there is less than average bullying

The school provided me a very great time in middle school, and helped keep my grades up when i didn't feel like continuing. Bring back Ms. Page

As a two-year student at Buchser going into 8th grade, I couldn't be happier that I chose this school over Discovery and Peterson. The school has fulfilled all of my needs and more and I have made a handful of lifelong friends. The teachers here really care about the students and will nurture them, talk to them about problems in their family/social life, and generally are a huge help for me. The school has gone through countless remodels, facelifts and have a redesigned curriculum and administration. The principal, Mrs. Stoffal, has actually been a friend to me. She is very involved with the kids and knows our names. Every day at lunch she brings out her dog, Mishka, to play with the kids. She is very easy to talk to and is sympathetic with other kids. She goes around class-to-class on some days to see how kids are doing in the learning environment and to help teachers if necessary. My social studies teacher's wife was in the hospital, so our teacher wasn't there that day. Mrs. Stoffal stepped in to substitute teach and it was a great period. The VP, Ms. Amador, makes the school a safer place with every move she makes. She's stuck with the job that has to keep everyone in check and on track, so some kids may not enjoy her presence as much as another may. Once you get to know her, she is a very kind person that cares for every kid that steps foot into Buchser. At BMS we have an awesome lunch selection. Almost everything is prepared in-house and there are always healthy options and a choice for everyone. There are many newly remodeled facilities, such as the cafeteria, both locker rooms, the auxiliary gym, the main gym, the 8th-grade wing (two floors!), and almost every classroom on the campus has been redone in the last 10 years. Overall, this school has been a gleaming light in my life in the past two years and it will be in the next year too. I haven't had a bad teacher once at Buchser. Sidenotes:Though the band director, Mr. A, may seem intimidating, I absolutely recommend joining Band. It has given me many new friends and has enriched my experience. Mr. Anderson really is a nice guy, especially when you talk to him often and say hello. (Saxophones are the best!!) If you like going on field trips, Band is the class for you. It takes effort, but usually once a month we go to a jazz festival and we go to Disneyland once a year.

I really wish I could give this school 5 stars but there are some issues that need to be dealt with. Overall, my son enjoys his time there and that says a lot.

As a student despite its history Buchser is a warming place to visit and learn. Now with the construction is done this school can once again gleam.

My daughter loves it here. Her friends are supportive and kind. We have been impressed by all her teachers. All the teachers have been responsive to any questions we've had and she has plenty of homework to challenge her at home. She has said her math teacher, Ms. Amina, explains the subject better than any teacher she has ever had. Only reason this review is not 5 stars is I wish there were more electives to choose from (i.e. languages) and after school sport opportunities.

Buchser is an amazing school. I whole heartedly disagree with the previous review. The administration supports a safe learning environment and are all very professional. The staff works hard for the students and treat each child as an individual. If you walk onto campus you can feel the sense of pride from both teachers and students. The culture is one every parent would want for their child. I am a parent who is also in education. I have been involved with a lot of school. This school is special. There is a true sense of community and I feel lucky to be a part of it.

The principal Mr.Eaton has poor leadership skills and the vice principal is very rough and unprofessional. The teachers don't care about students that fall behind and are not held accountable. They don't reach out to the student or parent to support the child. The worst school my children every attended we have moved around a lot and without a dough the WORST school my children have attended. If I could give a zero star I would.

Buchser is the best school in the Santa Clara Unified School District. Having worked at each of the district's middle schools, I can honestly say that this middle school has the best teachers, staff, and students. They take issues of bullying and good citizenship seriously, and that reflects in student performance.
