Look at the test results and statistics for this school, scores are not good here especially of children with disabilities scores are very low. My personal experience is the principal does not create an environment to thrive and excludes students with disabilities from weekly news letters and achievement recognition. The students with disabilities are not acknowledged at all and just pushed to the side. Teachers have told me they don’t like the principal Deborah Stein which shows why most the staff left & family that sent children here also shared they had negative experience with the principal. She will not respond tho emails requesting meetings and the district need to look into making a change. Look elsewhere to enroll your child.

Horrible principal that has no regard for students with disabilities. The principal Deborah is condescending, rude, and lacks tact. Overall a horrible principal/ person . I wish they would remove her and hire a different principal that has compassion and actually cares about ALL students.

Information provided on this site about Sartorette Elementary School does not adequately represent the school. Our campus exudes the competence and compassion with which our staff educates students academically, behaviorally, and social emotionally. Our school's positive climate and culture of caring for each other extends to students, families, and staff. We serve a diverse clientele, including the children and grandchildren of our very own staff.Sartorette utilizes cultural responsiveness, data-driven decisions, collaboration, and family engagement to create a nurturing, compassionate, close-knit community of dedicated professionals and supportive families where general education and SDC students are given the same high quality academic and social emotional learning opportunities while honoring the differentiation needed for every child to thrive. We value the individuality of each student and continue our tradition of providing a variety of enrichment and inclusion programs and activities that serve the whole child. This combination helps make Sartorette superstars feel safe, known, valued, and love learning.Sartorette is home to general education TK through 5th grade, the district's SDC preschool, and SDC 1st-3rd grade for the '24-'25 school year. We are a public school serving those within our Cambrian School District. Sartorette's charter allows out of district families to enroll children without requiring release from their home school district. Unless you have a very standard, neurotypical kid, don’t go here. Any little thing requiring extra support will not be given here. Teachers don’t send their own kids here, they send them to Steindorf

We love this community school. The teachers and staff are kind and considerate, meeting your children where they are at. The admin work hard to bring new opportunities and programs to the student population while also focusing on developing staff members. The Cambrian School District quickly pivoted in March 2020, and provided students schoolwork and laptops/tablets for continued learning.

I can't possibly say enough good things. This school is truly extraordinary!! All of us in the parent community consider ourselves so lucky for our little gem of a school.

We love our school! With amazing teachers and staff, and a strong community of families, who are all pushing toward a common goal of educating and supporting the development of our kids, Sartorette is the best school for our family!

This is a great school with awesome supportive teachers. They have a positive behavior support program and a group of teachers and staff who make sure all are teaching and enforcing the school values.

My experience at this school has been top notch. There is such a tight knit community here, and parent involvement, in and out of the classroom. Everyone works together for the greater good. It is a positive atmosphere, and there are high standards for the kids. There are many after school programs, and next year there is even going to be before and after school care.

Sartorette Elementary School (TK-5) in the Cambrian School District values its long-standing reputation as a welcoming, close-knit community where every student is cared for and known. Sartorette provides a safe, inclusive, high standards learning environment that addresses the needs of the whole child. We’re making great changes to enhance our school: a new administrator, new library with multi-use space for learning and collaboration, and before and after school childcare starting the 2020-2021 school year. We have everything other Silicon Valley schools have and more: transitional kindergarten, well-integrated technology infrastructure with laptops and iPads; weekly motor skills, PE, and music classes; art lessons; a separate MakerSpace and a dedicated Science Lab to explore STEM opportunities; a huge garden for outdoor learning; and an energetic Home & School Club with high parent participation in and out of the classrooms. No matter where you live in Santa Clara County, you don’t need permission from your home district to attend Sartorette. Check out our video and let the people who know it best tell you about our school.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iJRc4mcNZg

I will never ever ever tell a parent to bring their children to the school. Most field trips are canceled due to a lack of funding after getting the kids all excited. The bullying is out of control I have seen fist fights at the school which is quite ridiculous given that is an elementary school. They do not support you as a parent they do not have your child’s back you better hope your child has a thick back bone to be able to handle all the bullying that they are going to receive at the school.

What an incredible school! Every morning the principal holds an assembly for the whole school with announcements and a "weekly focus" - one week it's compassion, one week it's how to be a good friend, etc... The community is supportive and kind, and the teachers are extraordinary. This school is phenomenal!

We've had a great experience at this school. The teachers and principal have been great to work with and show a lot of care and enthusiasm for the students. Curriculum is well rounded and includes a noticeable STEAM focus.

This school is much better than what the previous parent comment. It has good programs in sports, music and science. It also has the only one k-1 grade after-school theater (musical) class. All other schools' theater classes are for 2nd grade and above. My kid is in kindergarten. In each week, there are 3 sport classes: PE, Motor Skills, and Track. There is 1 music class. There are many writing classes (writer's club). This school emphasize positive discipline and good behaviors. Students are given a "coping good" slip for doing good things and then enter the lottery for getting a treat. In the class, students get SuperBucks (fake money) for completing homework or behaving well in the class. SuperBucks can be used to exchange small gifts in the SuperBucks store. There are a science night (science activities) and a separate science fair (students' science exhibition) every year. Other Cambrian elementary schools combine science activities and student science exhibit to one single science fair. But Sartorette school makes it 2 events, which is very good because we can spend more time in science activities and seeing all students' exhibit. There are also 3 MakerSpace (STEAM labs) activities in a year sponsored by Home and School Clubs. There is an Art Show each year where students' art work from Art Vista program will be demonstrated. Art Vista is a program led by the volunteer parents and sponsored by the Home and School Club. For 3-5 grade, there are chior classes. For 4-5 grade, there are music band classes where students learn musical instruments like flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, etc. These music programs are funded by Cambrian School District. Not many other school districts offer music band program in the elementary school level. The principal is awesome. He is so kind and intelligent. He interacts with parents directly, such as reply your emails. No red tape. When you talk with him. He understands your concern and acts immediately to solve your problem.

This school has been tremendously disappointing overall. The teachers are mostly mediocre, the facilities are worn down (I've seen mold in the classrooms, and the multipurpose room smells like a basement from 1913), and the curriculum is uninspiring. I'm astounded that another reviewer says they focus on arts and science. The only art program is a once-per-month program led by untrained parents, there's not even an art teacher. Science is infrequent and glossed over. They do not make use of technology much - the school is in the heart of Silicon Valley, and they couldn't even figure out how to post the class lists to the website when the school year began. They did have a STEM night this year, which was a welcome change of pace, and I think the new principal had a strong hand in that. But it's far too little for what our kids should be learning in 2017.

This is a great school. The teachers are very experienced. The new principal is also very good. He's very approachable, he holds monthly coffees with parents to understand their points of view and address any issues either right there or with follow-up action. He even holds Noche Latinas to engage and be inclusive. This is a charter school, and the good news is that they are currently accepting enrollments for the 2017 year. The principal also holds morning assemblies where he encourages the children and teaches them something new everyday, for example 'have a growth mindset', 'being responsible', some new astronomy fact of the day because a particular star or planet is going to be up in the sky that night. The school definitely makes it exciting for the children to learn!

I have two boys in school here. 4th grade and 1st. The new principal is AMAZING and such a good leader. He has brought a great energy and inclusive enthusiasm that has spread through the whole school. There is a good on site after-school program as well. My kids have a chance to learn in project based learning and the school encourages parent participation. We love the school and have been impressed with every teacher our kids have had so far.
