Innapropriate staff and faculty that are willing to lie. Don't go here

As a parent of a 1st grader and a 3rd grader last year, I had high hopes for their school experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. Both of my kids ended the year feeling frustrated and unhappy with their school experience. For my 1st grader, the lack of engaging and interactive activities was disappointing. At such a young age, learning should be fun and exciting, but the curriculum lacked creativity and hands-on experiences, making it difficult for them to stay interested. My 3rd grader struggled with a chaotic classroom environment. The heavy emphasis on standardized testing overshadowed real learning, leaving little room for critical thinking and exploration. They often came home feeling overwhelmed and unsupported.I wish the school had prioritized creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages a love for learning. Our children deserved better, and I hope to see positive changes in the future.

I am disappointed with Reed due to the lack of attention my 3rd-grade child received from the teachers. Class sizes were too large, making it difficult for teachers to provide individual support. Despite raising concerns with the administration, the issues were not addressed effectively. Communication with parents was minimal, leaving us unable to help our child at home. I hope the school takes action to improve teacher-student interaction and class sizes. Until then, I cannot recommend this school for parents seeking a supportive educational environment.

my kid could never make any lasting friendship in this school. his teacher is arrogant and not caring on both first and second grade. it is my own mistake for not moving out of this neighborhood and being stuck with this school. i dont have so much high-hopes for school, but at least minimums should be met. no matter how i lower the bar, still this school is below the bar.

As a parent, I’m really disappointed with my experience at Reed Elementary School. I had high hopes, but it’s been a letdown for many reasons. To start with, communication is a real struggle. Important information often comes at the last minute, which is stressful and frustrating. I’ve tried reaching out via email and phone, but it’s like talking to a wall. It feels like the school isn’t really listening or making an effort to keep us in the loop.I’m also concerned about the quality of education. The curriculum feels outdated, and my child isn’t feeling challenged or engaged. They often come home feeling bored, which is the last thing I want for them. It seems like the school doesn’t really focus on individual needs, and that’s affecting my child’s progress. And when it comes to extracurricular activities, there just aren’t enough options. I want my child to have opportunities to explore different interests, but it seems like that’s not a priority here.I hope the school makes some serious changes because our kids deserve better. I wouldn’t recommend this school to other parents in its current state.

we came to this neighborhood 2yrs back and my kid went this school. since she was at 4th grade, i didnt act immediately to move her another school when i saw the early signals. i regret that decision. i should have moved her to another school and wouldn't have waited another year. 4th and 5th grades are important grades, i should not have taken them lightly. teachers are not motivated to spend time with students. they are impatient and lack of motivation is the main prevailing attitudes in teachers. i never recommend Reed.

i had my daughter in this school for 3yr. i always wanted to stop sending her to this school, but my residence limited me to this school. i am now renting in los gatos to be able to send her to a good school. my daughter was bullied in the school several times, and teachers are indifferent to bully and harassment. these behaviors impact my child's education and mental health. i regret sending my kid there. wasted her education for 3yr.

my kid goes to 4th grade this year. he was in Reed from 1st to 3rd. this is not my place and my type. principal is indifferent, bullying is common, teachers do not care whether my kid catches up in class or not, i am done with this school. i am going to move to another place when my lease is over just for the sake of my kid.

my kid went there for 2yr. it is full of bully and disrespect and trauma. principal has changed and no improvement, but worsened. arrogant and impatient teachers. they got their ranking only due to DEI, and nothing useful.

Reed is an exceptional school. The teachers here are not just educators; they are passionate mentors who genuinely care about each student's personal and academic growth. The school itself boasts well-kept facilities that create a welcoming and safe environment for all students. From the colorful classrooms to the expansive playground, every corner of this school is designed to foster learning and fun.The sense of community here is truly remarkable. Parents and local community members are deeply involved, frequently participating in school events and making contributions that enrich the students' learning experiences. This collaborative atmosphere not only enhances the educational environment but also creates a supportive network for students and families alike. This isn't just a school, it's a community that nurtures future leaders, thinkers, and dreamers.

This is the worst elementary school I have ever ever come across, and especially awful if you have a child that has any individualized education plan in place, or any type of special needs. The principal of the school is especially terrible, basically just a district puppet spewing rhetoric and excuses, and more concerned with his outfits than fostering an environment for growth and learning. My sons 4th grade teacher was wonderful, and did what she could, as well as the extremely overwhelmed and overextended resource specialist. SJUD puts the growth and wellbeing of the students secondary to district regulations, lack of funding and will force children through these grades without them truly ready to progress. Do not send your children here!

Great school! Caring teacher and (equally if not more important) engaging parents! Thank you, Reed!

Reed is a tremendous school with great teachers and a great principal. An active PTA provides even more to the students as well as strengthening the sense of the community that the school has. I recommend Reed to all new families in the area.

We've been part of the Reed family for the last 4 years and couldn't be more proud to be a Bobcat! Our boys are thriving and love the teachers, students and all of the staff. Mr. Ramezane is a highly-engaged and motivating Principal. He knows all the kids by name, which is not easy but very much appreciated. The coursework is challenging and the weekly emails sent by Mr. Ramezane with a focus on different character traits like respect, compassion and kindness is very special to our boys!

We have been at Reed for 3 years now and moved from Cupertino school district. Here at Reed we found an excellent mixture of academics and community. The PTA is very involved, the teachers are caring and knowledgeable. We absolutely love Reed Elementary.
