We’ve been at Schallenberger 2 years and have 2 kids in attendance. Our experience has been very positive. The parent community is welcoming, there are numerous family events and parent events sponsored by the SHSA. It was easy to meet other family’s and get connected. The staff is also fantastic. My kids have had great teachers are doing well in their classes.

This school has strong support from teachers, parents and administrations. Annual fundraisers are strongly support and parent involvement is huge. Teachers are incredibly liked and dedicated to their work throughout the year. Although the academics at the school are some what paced to the districts curriculum which unfortunately is behind the norms of better performing schools.

My child loves going to school. I love the parents, teachers and principle at the school. I would rate my experience as 5 out of 5. I feel very lucky that Schallenberger is our home school.

It has been a bad experience for us. Schallenberger is mediocre when it comes to education. But even worse when issues arise, they just look the other way. and ignore the problem.

We've had all four of our kids at Schallenberger. Our oldest was well prepared for middle school, and the younger ones are on track for the same. Schallenberger has great enrichment programs for all the kids including science and art. The parents really pull together to make these programs happen every year. The teachers always seem to care about my kids, and are open to strategies for problems that have come up. There is a strong sense of community at our school, and families can enjoy events like Dance Parties, Movie Nights, and Science Night, which helps make our community even stronger.

I have a Kinder and a 4th grader at Schallenberger. Both of my kids love school. They look forward to coming to school because of the welcoming environment they are in. I am so proud of our Schallenberger families and community. It is truly a special place where students and families can connect. Our local neighbors and politicians care about our school, and we have a tremendous amount of parent and community support to fundraise for the amazing enrichment programs we have for ALL students at the school. We have been very happy with Schallenberger, and we feel lucky to have it as our home school.

My daughter is having a wonderful experience with this school. The teachers are so warm and inviting. The office staff is helpful and the principal is AMAZING! He has turned the school around and with the help if the Home and School Association, the school has a strong sense of community again.

My son has Dyslexia. He has struggled at this school with little support. They won’t test him until he gets further behind. They set up accommodations and then didn’t follow them. My son has anxiety about school. They haven’t been able to connect with him to help him. They have no idea what Dyslexia is, how to spot warning signs, or how to teach Dyslexics. It has been a frustrating half a year for my son. Pulled him out to homeschool and help heal his feelings of being stupid and his anxiety.

My daughter has been at Schallenberger for 2 years and has had a great experience so far. The new principal creates a positive and open atmosphere while the teachers are caring and encouraging, and maintain high expectations for their students.

I wish I could give this school no stars. I'm very disappointed my child attends this school. There isn't a day that goes by where my child doesn't have something to share about how a teacher was extremely mean and vindictive. The teachers seem very unhappy with their jobs. They are condescending and rude to the kids, could it be because they have no clear direction? This school has had a different principal every year. If only I would have known, I would have moved rather than send my child to this school.

I wish I can give less than 1 star. 4th grade teachers don't give homework , lazy, don't correct papers.My son didn't learn anything last year. Hopefully the principal will take serious action and the 5th grade teachers will do better

My child attended this school for 3 years. Kindergarten was great, but in the 1st and 2nd grades, the teachers were so stressed out it caused us a lot of stress as well. I don't know what else to say. I know the public schools have been struggling due to lack of funding and I honestly hope the situation improves. 30+ kids to a class is not a formula for happy teachers or well developed students. Also, there is too much emphasis on quantity of books read with no real study or learning involved. It's all about the volumes, not critical or creative thinking. I have heard the principal situation is improved over when we attended a couple of years back.

I couldn't be happier with the education my son received while at Schallenberger (Kindergarten). His teacher was great about communicating his progress on a regular basis which allowed to focus on certain areas that needed attention. I'm very happy to know that my son will be starting first grade at math and reading that is needed to be successful in first grade.

This is our first year as a kinder family at Schallenberger. We have been so happy so far. The parent involvement is like none other and the fundraising motivation is stellar! Our sons teacher is wonderful as if she was hand picked for him. Our only complaint is the climate between staff and principle. We truly hope that the district will take a closer look at that and really HEAR what our wonderful teachers have to say. Without them, we don't have the Schallenberger "family" we all love so much.

This schools is great. The teachers promote a true learning environment by maximizing the students expectations. Hence, this allows students to challege themselves and study hard to be a top student. The school also involves parents in many activities that promotes a true welcoming social environment.
