They say they are not a school for special needs, but I have ADHD and I got more help than at any previous school. I was having a hard time in Geometry during 8th grade, and I was allowed to take my tests in a quiet room without distractions. My previous school just gave extra time for tests which didn't help much. The principal volunteered his own time to tutor me. He also made the effort to figure out my bad handwriting and explain to my teacher that I really was showing my work. My parents were not very sure I could do well in school, but I ended up being able to start 9th grade with only one more year of math needed to graduate. I wish my family didn't need to move out of the state.

Cambrian Academy has provided an academically stimulating and nurturing environment to my child. I would recommend this school to any child who has a different pace of learning. My child joined Cambrian at age 9 and graduated this year and has been very happy here!

As a concerned member of the Cambrian Academy community, I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with Cambrian Academy. This educational institution, which should ideally foster growth and development, has instead become a breeding ground for despair, thanks to its dismal atmosphere, inadequate physical exercise opportunities, and an unpleasant headmaster who sets a hostile tone for the entire school. From the moment one sets foot inside Cambrian Academy, the prevailing air of despondency is palpable. The students, whom you would expect to be full of youthful energy and enthusiasm, appear dejected and disheartened. It is truly disconcerting to witness how the spirit of these young individuals has been dampened by the oppressive environment they are forced to endure on a daily basis. One of the most glaring issues at Cambrian Academy is the glaring lack of emphasis on physical exercise. Students spend long hours confined to their classrooms, with minimal opportunities for movement and physical activity. The absence of a robust physical education program not only neglects the students' physical well-being but also deprives them of the chance to blow off steam and alleviate the stress that naturally comes with academic pursuits.Sadly, the headmaster's demeanor does nothing to instill confidence or trust in the school's administration. His rude and dismissive attitude towards students and parents alike demonstrates a shocking lack of empathy and professionalism. It is disheartening to witness such behavior from someone in a position of authority, as it sets a harmful precedent and sends the message that mistreatment is acceptable within the school's culture. In conclusion, Cambrian Academy is a school that has failed its students in numerous ways. The lack of physical exercise, absence of a safe environment, and the rude behavior exhibited by the headmaster all contribute to an atmosphere of despair and dejection. It is crucial that parents and students seeking a positive educational experience look elsewhere for an institution that truly values the well-being and growth of its attendees.

Terrible communication, terrible head master, terrible teachers. When you try to leave the school they will hold you hostage. Children feel depressed in this school and do not see the way out. So glad to be out.

In this particular school, almost half of the teachers don't teach, instead they just make you read the textbook without giving you any proper guidance, making it very hard to properly learn and understand the subject, and many of the teachers are very biased against students they dislike, and try their best to fail them.

Be careful with this school. Plan on paying in full for the contract you sign, no exceptions, or they will threaten to sue you. Even their actions and behaviors do not change the contract. We had a family emergency 3 months into a 1.5 yr contract, and we had to pay in full.

So far we had experienced middle school, and it was great for our child. She learned more in one year than in 2 prior years of middle schools, and she formed strong bonds with her teachers and with some of her classmates. She had a lot of options for high school but she really wanted to stay at Cambrian Academy saying that she feels safe and challenged here.

It's going to be my 8th year as a teacher at Cambrian. For me, it's been the most fulfilling, satisfying and inspiring environment to work in.

As a parent living in a Latin America country, I offered my son (17 years old) the possibility of studying in US (2013-2014) as I believe this is an important experience in his age. I spent several weeks searching the Internet for a school in San Jose where my son could benefit from a truly American experience. I chose Cambrian school because it seemed Cambrian had a good academic proposal (based on the material available on the web). Unfortunately after one week I decided to move my son to another school. I had some expectations that were not met. Cambrian school has a poor infrastructure, inadequate resources. There is no adequate gym for sports. In fact Cambrian does not offer alternatives sports as my son expected. In general, the atmosphere there make you feel disappointed. When searching for schools, I do not recommend that international families make decision based only on the material available on the internet. When possible, visit the school, talk to the principal and some teachers. Unfortunately, as I am living far from the US, I could not do it. In addition, I paid 75% of the tuition and the Cambrian refused to refund. International parents must be aware about this.
