The school has a very good learning environment. Teachers are responsible and keep parents updated weekly on progress. The school has its own music program and science lab. The student demographics is mostly Asian and very academically focussed.

Strong academic is driven by both parents and teachers. Ruskin teachers and staffs are responsive to parents' concern and communication via email/phones.

Before Greatschools rehauled its rating system, Ruskin was a 9 or 10. I'm baffled why it's suddenly a 7. I'm baffled because I know of stories on how disadvantaged students are thriving! My child had difficulty fitting in at the start of school. The teacher and principal were compassionate and worked with me in a positive way to help my child. My neighbor's son also had a lot of help in improving his studies thanks to his teacher going the extra mile. I love it that the school is very inclusive and has an active PTA. There are so many events throughout the year and participation rate is high. I'm glad we're part of this vibrant community!

The school has lost a number of good teachers recently, and the amount of homework assigned to students seems to vary greatly between teachers even at the same grade level. In addition, parents have expressed concerns or made inquiries to the administration and received inadequate responses.

The staff is a mixture of veteran teachers and new teachers. The "school climate" is positive and all students are encouraged. Test scores are historically high so many families try to get into Ruskin. A great environment for my 4 children!

As it is in any school, most of the teachers are amazing. They really care about the students. But there are a few teachers where you don't feel the same and these are the ones that make a bigger impression, unfortunately.

THIS SCHOOL USED TO BE VERY GOOD ,NOW ... ONLY IF YOU ARE PART OF ** THEIR PEOPLE ** LIKE THE OFFICE STAFF MEMBERS CALL THEM, YOU WILL BE OK AND HAVE ALL PREFERENCES .OTHERWISE IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF ** THEIR PEOPLE ** YOU WILL BE *** DISCRIMINATED *** BY THE PRINCIPLE AND HER ASSISTANT.

My child went to Ruskin from the middle of 3rd grade. It was a great year. My child learned a lot from there. In his old school he did not learn that much.

Ruskin has been a disappointment all year, the staff has continued to cover up their short comings.

I grew up in San Jose, CA, and went to Ruskin from K-5th grade. The school always had programs meant to encourage students to achieve, and the school secretary was especially nice. :)

This school is wonderful. They had a good science lab when I attended but I am not sure if they still have it due to the budget cuts. They also have a very friendly office staff that makes everyone feel very welcome.
