This schools administration preaches about anti bullying, claims they don't tolerate it. My 9 year old is in therapy because she is constantly picked on and harassed by fellow students. Yesterday she was physically assaulted three times and the boys punishment was to stand against the wall! The administration does NOTHING to put a stop to these actions. These kids NEED to be held accountable.

If i had known how bad this school was looked for our home in that district, I would have tucked tail and run. It may be more the county board of uneducation, but this school is beyond bad

When is the county going to change up the leadership? PTA meetings used to have standing room only with the prior principal, now there are rows of empty chairs. As if that isn't obvious enough, several parents pulled their kids out for this school year and sent them to a different school all because the administration doesn't give parents or the kids any respect.

I would bet that the parent you are referring to was once a very involved parent! I am sure they met the principal, which exactly explains the rest of the comment about how the school has gone downhill. I totally agree that this year has changed Pemberton for the worse. I used to be proud when I said my child attended Pemberton, but now I am looking to change schools if the same admin will be there next year. There is no point wasting another year at a school sliding into the slums of despair.

I wonder what this parent is doing to make Pemberton the school they would like it to be? Have they met with the principal? Have they volunteered in the classroom? Have the met with the PTA president? OR Is this their big contribution to the betterment of Pemberton...trashing the school on a random website.

The 2010-11 school year has been miserable for PES. The change up of the administrators has backfired and the school has become increasingly dismal. The current (new) principle and vp have changed so much at PES without regard to the history or tradition. Gone are the priorities of reading 20 min each day, and many more free and easy incentives. Gone are the happy welcoming morning announcements only to be replaced by a scripted borefest. Gone are the cheerful good bye announcements reminding students to read and to follow the 4 R's. The 4R's were the basic principles of which the school lived by...Respect to others, Ready to learn, Rethink choices and Responsiblity. The parental involvement has all but dimished and the PTA is not strong. PES was once a place of fun and learning. I bragged about it to other parents in the community. PES has become a sad place and I can not wait for my children to be out of there.
