Students graduate without basic math and writing skills. Underperforming students are rewarded with inflated grades, nonsensical county averaging policies, and easier courses. Overperforming students are punished with more work and responsibility when they finish their assignments. The students in the middle get dragged down by disruptive behavior and low-achievers. Student apathy and inconsistent or ineffective consequences for "bad" behavior are rampant. Some "bad" students are untouchable and never recieve consequences because priority is given to athletics over academics. Standardized test scores are also abysmal compared to other school districts and states.

My LGBT student has faced bullying and unequal treatment from students and staff. Attempts to address the issue have been unsuccessful. The special ed coordinator, however, is excellent.
