The teachers in this school are the only good portion of this school, they do try to do their best with the children. The administration above the teachers though is absurd, they do not have the children's best interest at heart nor do they show any willingness to work with the child or parent if any concerns or questions arise. In the 4 years I have dealt with this school as the children went there I have experienced multiple instances of the children being sent out in the hall for disrupting the class and while in the hall unsupervised the child walk off and roam the school or walk off the school grounds completely. I have also experienced a child who was brought to the office and then placed in a room (slightly larger than a closet) while they block the door half way with a gym exercise mat to give them a "quiet space to think and reflect on their actions" where the child is allowed out if they stand quietly for a set number of minutes. The staff have also been caught using demeaning and inappropriate language with the children. The breaking point here is that after 4 years of the children going to this school we had to move slightly across town half way through the school year and it put us slightly in to a different school's area. The oldest child was in 5th grade just about to finish off their elementary year with the friends they made over the years. The school required us to fill out an in-district transfer request form which they immediately denied saying that it does not matter if the children have made friends, had become familiar with the school / teachers, had been attending that school for 4 years, were close to finishing elementary school, had transportation to and from school not needing the school bus, and were attending their daycare still directly down the road from the school or anything. They said were refusing to allow the children to continue to attend the school, they said the children were not allowed back at their school 1 week from the denial of the transfer request. This meant one of our children had to finish off his last few months as a 5th grader (what should be an exciting few last months with his friends before preparing to enter 6th grade) surrounded by unfamiliar teachers, school grounds, procedures, and fellow students. Although the teachers seem to do their best with the children, the administration is disgraceful. There are inappropriate methods for handling disciplinary actions and no compassion.

My experience at this school was a amazing, I will never forget the amazing teachers and friends I had. I learned so much there and had so many people to support me the six years I went there.

Horrible school!!!! Needs to be shut down. ZERO communication. Teachers don't follow through on anything - I would give them a negative star rating if the website would allow it. Silver lining, Principal is nice. Bullying is tolerated. School lunches taste like cardboard. My child was injured TWICE and I was never notified until after school was let out- the second (and last) time ended up being a fractured arm.

I have 2 children who attend Mary Eyre and their teachers are both wonderful and I have always received great feed back in regards to my children. The front office always knows my kids by name (even my little guy who does not attend school) which makes them feel right at home. Quick attention when their is the need or something comes up.
