The teachers are excellent. No problem there. They’re experienced and always engaged in the classroom. I’m a student currently here, and the teachers currently are amazing at helping kids learn, and it really motivates me. The learning experience for me is really good as well, but the other students are disinterested and label it boring, (not that it is.) Many classes are loud, rowdy, and chaotic. The teacher will occasionally have to yell to make the others be quiet. Some of the students really just hate the idea of education and are irresponsible and insolent. Others, more than there should be, seem to enjoy being insulting, disrespectful, and disruptive. The social-emotional part of it is good- they have counselors and learning specialists and such, although I haven’t really experienced that part of the school much as I haven’t needed it. The family engagement is nice- the teachers email regularly about what us students are doing in the classroom, regarding disciplinary action, and that kind of thing. They don’t put our parents in the dark at all. As for the safety- it can be difficult at times. As you would expect, sometimes it can get rough in the halls or locker room, and there have been many incidents requiring disciplinary action by teachers or other staff members. There was a lot of racism previously, although it seems to have gotten better recently. And, a percentage of the students are still getting suspended for hate speech, among other things. Many individuals here are also bullied, including myself. A chunk of them don’t bully but are regularly rude to others for no good reason. It’s not fun when that happens, let me tel you. Overall, I feel like this school has good teachers, good staff, but the students don’t seem to care much about school.

Every individual that I know that attended this school was bullied. My brother is scarred for life because of the bullying he experienced at this school in 2023. It's literally 2023 and somehow Leslie still allows students to get away with bullying, unable to protect children under their own care. They do not care about the success of their students, and prefer to sweep incidents under the rug rather than apologise and hold bullies accountable. I am so glad I never went here. If I could give this joke of a school a lower rating, I would!

Good teachers. They do not control the students. My experience has been generally terrible, specifically because of the students.

Most of the teachers in this schools are good! I only had a problem with about 14% of them. Being one of the few black kids in this school was ok... Of course theirs the racist kids but a lot of them seemed to like the black kids.

Overall the teachers at this school are very good and my son had a great 3 years. He came from an elementary school that had a great administration. It was immediately clear this would be a new experience. The administration seems to find it impossible that any of their teachers regardless of their school wide reputation could be the problem. I think the school administration would benefit from benchmarking their individual teachers against results from other teachers within and without their school. I believe it would be quite revealing. My son has always done well in math. The 8th grade was a constant struggle with his teacher. The administration was largely unhelpful. I think Leslie could be a great school with a little more proactive administration involvement in evaluating teachers that have had complaints from students and parents alike.
