The school itself isn’t bad. However, based on my experience with a few teachers and the principal. I do not recommend this school.

I have heard from others that Richmond has undergone many changes in the last 2 years. A new principal came in, Bonney Dietrich. From what I can see, she is excellent. She brought a great deal of positive change to the environment of the school. The teachers seem genuinely happy to work at Richmond. Every teacher I pass in the hall or by their classrooms are smiling and positive. Mrs. Dietrich has implemented a rewards program as well as a behavioral toolbox that seems to work well with students. My student has used this toolbox at home for conflict resolution with siblings and I've been impressed by its successful impact at the school and at home.Mrs. Dietrich impressed me with her productive attitude. She saw a problem with parent pick-up logistics and immediately set to work to fix the problem. Later, another problem arose and she again was out evaluating and giving direction to fix the situation. Not all principals are as involved or as caring about the success of their students, staff and families.I have also had numerous positive experiences with my student's teacher, Mrs. Bamford. She is a wonderful teacher who instills excitement for learning and knows how to address the needs of the various levels of learners. My child comes home telling me all sorts of great stories and experiences from the classroom. My child feels safe and is excited to go to school each day. Mrs. Bamford communicates information to parents through a weekly newsletter and Remind App. She is always willing to communicate with the parents of a student and addresses any needs quickly. I voiced a "would be nice if..." and Mrs. Bamford had unexpectedly fulfilled it within a day. Needless to say, I was impressed. She has great classroom management and created a wonderful learning environment. My child's PE and music teachers are also excellent. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was scared to send my child to Richmond after reading online and all the negative things I've heard from others. But, I have only had positive experiences. Richmond seems to have turned a corner. CRITICISM:The restrooms need a major remodel. I would rather my child not wash their hands than touch the disgusting dribbling water that barely escapes the water outlet of the wash basin. You have to touch the center outlet to get your hands wet, it's really nasty.

I love this school. It's amazing to see how hispanic parents get involved in theirs students' studies and assignments. I can greatly say that I'm utterly happy with this school. I'm a binational teacher and I love Richmond and its staff.

I love Richmond Elementary school. I'm a freshman in college who goes there to help in a classroom. The atmosphere and motivation from all those I work with is amazing.

I attended Richmond like ten years ago. I now volunteer there and I feel like this school is getting better every year. Teacher's are great as while. I would really recommend this school.
