Harmony Community School is mostly in sync with the values and priorities of the neighborhood. Many of the teachers are very good, and value the progress of each student. I have two kids who went there, and the experience was great.

We’ve been here a few years and absolutely love it. The teachers are amazing and dedicated to the children. The lunch attendants know the students and are great with them. The admin are running around trying to get everything done and still be there for the kids as much as possible. The principal is great and puts her heart and soul into this school for the kids. Whenever I had a concern, it was immediately addressed, talked about together and handled professionally.

The principal is terrible! Has nothing to do with the kids! She doesn’t know the kids. She doesn’t participate in anything. They built a literal wall around the school and they don’t let parents in. You can’t even have lunch with your child. The teachers are great but you can’t do anything with a terrible leader! If you want to be involved with your child’s education don’t go here.

The principal is no where to be seen. Coming from other schools where the principal would be more engaged and in public eye such as pick up and drop off areas. During weeks where they dress up the principal would be showing their support etc. PTO tries their hardest but you can tell school leadership lacks that fun and engagement with the families. Example science fair was awful, daddy daughter dance sold out within 24 hours. Nothing for Christmas or holidays. Harmony is where many moved to be in a secluded area with their families to be more involved but that lacks. Grade level from the school has dropped. The teachers are amazing so at least there is that. We know the area is growing and so is the school and that’s also concerning.

I had high hopes for this school after moving from a different state. Sent all the paperwork in before school started regarding my child (whose autistic and has adhd) needing a 504 or IEP. No one ever got back with me. Found out they had a change in staff and we were basically swept under the rug. My child started school not being accommodated. When the 504 was finally put in place a month or more later, he was still not accommodated. He never even went to a separate classroom for testing like he was supposed to. The teachers response to him having high anxiety, and not wanting to speak in front of the class for a presentation, was that I don’t understand presentations are for celebrations. I don’t think she understands that my child has a disability and severe anxiety. Speaking in front of the class when he also has a speech delay, and being made fun of all the time, is the least of his worries. He was bullied and harassed by students and faculty. I was told the school would do this and that for him multiples times, but they never did. The PE coach even made comments about his behavior in front of other teachers and students where they can hear. Pulled my children out within a few months of them attending. A very cliquish school, and not helpful for children with disabilities. Avoid!

The school has top notch teachers who go above and beyond for their students.

Terrible - they lack accountability and my child is not safe there.

We moved into the community 9 months ago and although our children are still adjusting, they are thriving at Harmony Community School. My son's teachers are our boys' biggest fans providing us with peace of mind.We receive great feedback/communication from our teachers regarding academic progress and upcoming school events/activities. Furthermore, the school district provides 24/7/365 visibility and access to our children's grades and attendance throughout the academic school year - no more guesswork.Although improvement is needed within Harmony in communicating sports and extracurricular activities, the Harmony Community School is extremely helpful in providing any/all information they have for programs outside of their control. All in all, we're very pleased with the progress our children are making.

Where to start--bullying is absolutely horrible at the middle school and is never addressed my the office, school officals or teachers. Homework is given to students in Honor's classes that takes them from the time they get out of school until 2 am to finish (everyday not occasional). Absolutely forget outside sports, dance etc. Because there will be no time for that. There is absolutely no home life for children who attend this school due to the amount of homework which doesn't stop over weekends or holiday breaks either! Pretty sure with the amount of homework that comes home with my children each day that there is no actual teaching being done during school hours. The teachers spend more time voicing their polical views than actually teaching. Favoritism runs rapid at this school, if you grew up in saint cloud you are good to go as your kid will be a favorite, otherwise forget it. Teacher lose homework on a regular basis and when they don't lose it,they take months and months to grade it leaving no feedback on how you children are understanding the materials they are learning. They have some of the most ridicilous rules that they make up as they go as to punish the "non favorited" students. There is maybe one teacher in the entire middle school that cares about his students and how they are doing. When you email the teachers you never get a response. I could go on and on but I think you get the point.

The front staff are always helpful and the teachers truly care. The principal is wonderful and has done a great job with the school. Unfortunately the Vice Principal does not know how to manage her time. I scheduled a meeting with her and waited 1 1/2 to speak with her and was quickly rushed. She does not care what a parent has to say regarding their child. Her response was that my "child is not priority and that after she is done checking fire drills she will address the issue HOPEFULLY be end of week". She speaks fast to get whats on her mind quickly off before she forgets it and when you speak she rushes you by saying OK mid sentence as if she does not care. She is unprofessional. She is not a people person. She needs to change careers. As a former school teacher I understand being busy but there is a way to speak to parents who are concerned for their children.

I am happy my kids are attending this school, specially the younger one. Learning leadership principles at an early age, as well as, receving strong academics prepares kids for the demands they will find as they grow up. My son started in middle school and I can already see the difference in his attitude and dedication. I love the staff's attentiveness and responsiveness when I e-mail them, and even though, I haven't met the principal, he obviously has put together a great group of dedicated teachers who understand the value of a strong educational foundation and how to motivate kids of all ages to do their best.
