I would give this school 0 stars in all categories if I could. What you’re reading in the negative reviews is sadly true. First, the lower grade teachers are very young and highly inexperienced; they simply do not have the skill set to manage these kids - especially if you do not have a child that perfectly fits the mold. HIGH turnover. Classes are big, loud, and teachers have little control over the chaos. Unless your child is perfectly compliant and willing to sit in silence with their hands clasped the entire day, you may get by. ZERO resources and/or willingness to support a child with learning differences - they are deemed a disruption to the classroom and will be forced out. There is no school counselor, no music, no regular foreign language, and the art program is laughable. The school puts all of their energy and effort into school fundraisers, and next to zero towards building a stronger academic program or resources for the kids. LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!

Attended this school K-8 and graduated in 2011. The schools is so steeped in classism, ableism, racism, misogyny, really just all the gross systems we live in. If you required special attention, you were often forced out of the school. Self expression was deeply discouraged unless it fit the rich, white, heteronormative environment the school fostered. Teaching staff does their best with what they have, though I had many issues with being punished and threatened just for existing with developmental issues. Instead of communicating with my parents about my issues and suggesting further exploration, they simply phrase it as your student is being disruptive and we will ask them to leave unless they stop.Bullying is rampant though admin could care less. This school is out to make money and maintain oppressive systems just like any other PWI. It failed me and many others. Please consider other schools in the area. I don't want this place continuing to profit off oppression.

Our children went to this school and what people are saying negatively about the school is true. Why would do many people make the same comments? The principal speaks badly about families that leave the school and teachers are afraid to say how they feel about her leadership. Sacred Heart parish and school deserves better.

This school is a hate filled environment with lacking academics and unsporting teachers. Along with this you have unprofessional teachers with ineffective methods of teaching. Not the mention the groups of parents who always get there way even when they are in the wrong.

We've had a great experience here with 3 kids. Principle seems great, but we are a pretty low maintenance family :)

Bullying by teachers and students is horrible.

Don't give this school or its hate-filled and bigoted admin even one minute of your time. Save your children from the pain of going to such a sad school - they will do better in any public school in Sacramento and I don't say that lightly

Unbelievably rude parents who take out their personal frustrations on the children of others, and a Parrish that fully supports such terrible behavior

Excellent. Sending my daughter to this school was one of the best decisions I have made as her father. My daughter was at Theodore Judah Elementary from Kindergarten-5th grade, and she was never challenged there academically. After the first trimester at Sacred Heart she was on the Honor Roll, but she had to work twice as hard to get there than before. With 1-2 hours a night of homework, she was still not the top student in the class. This school makes her better, not just the teachers, but the other students. She has learned Excel and Power Point from her classmates and she in only in the 6th grade. If you are considering Sacred Heart Parish School, and you want your child to be pushed academically, send them to this school.

I would not recommend this school. It is lacking in academics as well as the staff tolerates bullying. There is more concern or their fundraising functions than on the quality of education they are providing.

I went to this school K-8 so i have been through many of the changes. When i was younger I loved going to school but as I grew older it got worse and worse. Whenever i talk to people they say that is natural but i dis agree. Sacred Hearts principle does not care about the students she doesnt listen to what they have to say. The teachers are puppets to the princple and are in the middle of conflict and when confronted they say not to talk to them. The school makes it really difficult ofr students to voice there opinions. The school also has a severe bullying probelm and does not know how to handle it my class personally bullied out around 10 students! I myself felt bullied but i kept it to myslef. I do not recommed this school.

Sacred Heart on the surface looks like a wonderful school nice location, new facilities. However, the leadership at the school is weak compared to other Catholic Schools in the area. The school offers no foreign language, no art lab, PE. curriculum is weak, math and English are ok but depends on who the teacher is. The parents are cliquely and the teachers seem tired and frustrated by the weak leadership. Ten years ago, Sacred Heart was a great school, not anymore. So sad!

My family was new to this school last year. We have been welcomed with open arms by everyone who works there, families, students and especially the administration. The kids are kind, the academics are excellent and the teachers know and love the students.

Substandard teaching combined with a false sense of elitism. Catholic schools should be kind and christian not militaristic.

I think this is a good school for the average child. Good community (though parents are a bit clique-ish and they tend to "select" who their children play with. Parents also seem to run the school. That's not necessarily bad, but it reflects some of the substandard teaching that is seen. Catholic education overall is very good, but Sacred Heart's CCD program is just as good. If you have kids who are bright and intelligent or if you have kids who have special education needs, they wil have a difficult time at this school. I would suggest going to either Phoebe Hearst (best academic elementary school in all of Sacramento county) or David Lubin (they have a good overall school; good special education program as well)
