David Lubin was our home school. Our child was coming from the SPED program and into gen edu kindergarten class and has an IEP.As parents we were both fearful and hopeful. We had IEP meeting and was introduced to the incoming kinder teachers and principal. To say the least, kinder teachers showed little care for our child despite his current teacher vouching for our child and readiness for gen edu.We received zero reassurance from David Lubin kinder teachers and principal. Instead one particular kinder teacher said that most kids from SPED whom enter gen edu kinder are not successful. Mind you there was no follow up on how kinder teacher help to make kids successful. This particular comment and other comments by kinder teachers and lack of action by David Lubin principal left us mortified and because of that we made efforts to pull our child out of David Lubin. Our child is at another school attending kindergarten and thriving. If your child has special needs and IEP it is very questionable on how their kinder staff will support your child.

Amazing school with supportive teachers and staff. Principal Dixon is a great leader and communicator. He does an amazing job facilitating a cohesive school environment. He is personable, kind, intelligent and genuinely cares about each and every student and parent. David Lubin Elementary has a positive school culture. Inclusivity is embraced on all levels, including differing abilities, gender identities, ethnicity, culture, and socioeconomic status. The PTG is a wonderful group of parents who truly put their all into raising money for the school to have a diverse range of learning experiences and programs at the school. David Lubin also has a top notch Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. The teachers, support staff, interpreters, and aides are very knowledgable, caring, and they absolutely love their job. The Deaf culture is celebrated and there are so many wonderful opportunities of inclusion built into the program. I am so grateful for the time my child spent at David Lubin.

This is the most amazing school!! My child started at David Lubin in kindergarten and has had the most AMAZING experience with the most AMAZING teachers from the beginning to end! Their love for learning began in kinder and just grew from there. A few things that I especially love about the school and that sets them apart from other schools is that it is a STEAM school and that they have both an art and a music teacher. My child has thrived at this school. I am also grateful for the Parent Teacher Group that makes sure to include all parents and ensures that we are informed about everything that is going on at the school. I highly recommend this school! It is the absolute best!!

Our daughter was enrolled in one of the David Lubin kindergarten classes for three months before we decided to transfer her to a better-fitting school. She was recently diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. She is well behaved, but due to this diagnosis, she struggles with focus and is easily distracted. Rather than try to assist her, her teacher belittled her, singled her out in class, ostracized her from other children, and made our daughter believe she was less then. She told us that our daughter was incapable of keeping up, but gave no suggestions on how to assist her. She even sent her to speech and resource classes without our consent or knowledge. We transferred schools after our daughter began crying at the mention of school and began showing anxiety symptoms. At her newschool, she was given basic ADHD accommodations through her new teacher. She is now up to speed and working with her teacher to effectively learn with her attention issues. She is now doing addition and subtraction, reading, making friends, and wakes up happy to go to school. Yes, she still struggles with focus, but she is now in emotionally safe setting where she can work with her teacher to come up with strategies that work for her way of learning. I don't use this word lightly, but truly believe the teacher bullied my child. I can't speak for the rest of the school, but if your child learns in a way that differs even slightly from the norm, avoid this kindergarten program at all costs.

David Lubin was just designated as the first STEAM elementary school in the district. The school community, teachers, programming, art, library, music, staff - wonderful. We have been very happy as parents for our kids to attend this extremely diverse and welcoming school.

This school is such a wonderful place to be! Quality teachers, strong PTG, significant fundraising efforts benefit all classrooms by way of a school wide art program and after school enrichment activities. It's a well run school with a respected and dedicated principal. I couldn't be happier with this school choice for my kids.

My children have been going to David Lubin for five years now. The school uses the William & Mary GATE curriculum in every grade and classroom. There are lots of great enrichment programs such as: art, a dedicated Librarian, after school classes, soccer, basketball, a state-of-the art reading room, extra instructors for language arts, science, and student council and student paper. My kids have always felt supported and encouraged. The new Principal is amazing! In addition, the parent support and engagement is superb. I can't imagine sending my kids elsewhere.

I have a 2nd and 4th grader at the school. We love David Lubin. The teachers, staff and new Principal Dixon are great with both parents and students. There are tons of extra curricular activities for the kids to be involved in. The school is more than just a place for your kids to get a good education, it's a community of families that care and help each other. The sense of commitment to each and every student is very evident. I can't say it enough - it's a wonderful school!

My son started kindergarten this year. After a few weeks getting used to the new environment, he really loves it. His teacher is compassionate and guides them to focus their energy. The community of parents is really welcoming -- inclusive, diverse, active in building a strong network of caring people. Principal Dixon is the best -- he's always around and knows each student individually. The school also offers great extra activities including an After School program for kids to learn knitting or martial arts or Spanish or art (by the way -- Ms. Jane, the art teacher is wonderful and teaches art during regular school hours, too).

Our family loves David Lubin! The staff is extremely dedicated, as is the principal. There are so many programs and extras at this school. The art program with the amazing Ms. Jane is fantastic. She teaches art appreciation, coordinates her lessons with the teaching curriculum, and students make some really cool art! The Language Arts Exchange program (LAX) is also an excellent program. My daughter who is a very strong reader and writer has been able to excel due to the small group instruction that LAX provides. Thank you to the PTG for supporting these programs and hiring the extra staff needed to provide small group instruction! There are also many other great things happening at this school, and I am so glad that my children get to be part of it.

I was a student from 3rd to 6th grade attending David Lubin and loved it! If I were still in Sacramento, I would send my children there in a heartbeat! My teachers were fairly strict yet very kind, which is an excellent combination in which to learn.

Our PTG does a fantastic job raising money for our LAX Support Staff and spectacular Art Program & teacher . We also have an amazing COMMUNITY of parents who support our wonderful Teachers and a dedicated Office Staff and Librarian.

I have a lot to say about this school but unfortunately my posts keep getting removed. I am sure due to the fact that the school would like others to think it is a great school. Great community, yes, terrible school!

Last year was my son's first at David Lubin. I was very pleased with the inclusive feeling of community and parent involvement at the school. The communication from the school and PTG is very organized and helpful. The office staff is wonderful! Best of all, our son learned a lot! I have heard wonderful things about the new school principal and am looking forward to seeing what positive contributions he will bring.

This school is wonderful expect they offer no help for kids with learning disabilities and stone wall any attempts to provide testing for dyslexia and my daughters teacher had a very one size fits all style of teaching so my daughter has been held back we will hopefully have a different teacher this year. But even with all that said it is such a great school I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

I love this school. Its been home now for 8 years. The teachers are fantastic. My kids have done quite well under the leadership at the school. The parent teacher group raises a lot of money to suplement programs that the school districts have cut. Its a wonderful community based school. I will be very sad when my youngest graduates.
