I love the community at Esther Jackson. When I've been able to visit the school in the past it has always exuded an ambiance of a happy nurturing environment. My children are excited to get on the bus each morning. I now have two children that attend the school, and I am blown away with the progress that my youngest is showing. Additionally my oldest has developed a love for reading and I can tell that this was fostered at school.

Parents and Staff at this school listen to Parents' concerns and address them.

I absolutely love being a part of the Esther Jackson community. The teachers and staff at EJ care about their students and constantly work to support them. I have never been a part of a better work environment for teachers. Positivity is a priority at this school! The motto for this school year has been "we can do hard things." As difficult as 2020 was, Esther Jackson remained committed to learning and committed to students.

My daughter loves going to EJES and gets a lot of attention from the hard working teachers.

My Kindergartner and 2nd grader have had a great experience overall at Esther Jackson. They are both feel accepted by their peers and love their teachers. As parents, we feel that our students are being challenged and getting a great education. The school does a great job at constantly assessing where each student is in math and reading and moving them up to the appropriate grade level in those subjects when necessary!

Wonderful. The EJE family is truly a family and a community with strong bonds. We are proud of our school and the education our daughter is receiving is excellent, as is her overall experience.

9 out of 10. Don't let the test scores fool you. If you do, you're child is missing out on a fantastic school experience. It is smaller than other elementary schools and because of that, my child is known. Even teachers who don't have her, know her by name. The new principal, teachers, and in partnership with the new PTA leadership have really done a great job of trying to reach across the aisle to those families who are at Esther Jackson but do not live in Martin's Landing. Many of them are disadvantaged, non-native English speaking families. But guess what? They want what's best for their children too. So it makes for a richer school environment. The school has many wonderful events for the entire family. It really is a beautiful community. If you want a school that is going to love your child, encourage your child, push your child, know your child, support your child, you won't get any better than Esther Jackson. But if you want a school that has great standardized test scores? Keep walking.

We've been at EJE since 2010. I've seen 3 principals and many different teachers over the span of 9 1/2 years. We have never had a bad or ineffective teacher. Kids are grouped by abilities so that no one falls behind and no one gets bored. They push and challenge the students where they are meaning a child in 1st grade reading below level is given goals that they can reach. It's such a positive environment. Why set a child up to fail? Why make them feel like they are so far behind and they will never catch up. If a child can reach goals, they will keep trying harder and they will feel pride. That is what EJE teachers and staff are working towards. Take the time to TALK to a teacher, a parent, an administrator and let them show you how wonderful this school is. Don't read the numbers. I'm so glad that live in a neighborhood with such a phenomenal school and school community.

I have loved this school from the day my oldest son entered kindergarten in 2017. There is a positive culture of love, kindness, and learning that can be felt when you walk in the door. My two children have very different learning styles and abilities and both have been able to thrive. The staff works extra hard to ensure the needs of all students are met and they are doing a fantastic job. I will not move out of my current neighborhood until both my children have moved up to Middle School - I don't believe there is a learning environment that would better fit their needs.

My children, were able to develop their talents, skills and excel at Esther Jackson n, the teachers and staff are very helpful and very approachable. My children was given a chance to become the leaders in their own ways.

I see the reviews and score and I am shocked. Our family loves Esther Jackson Elementary. They say it takes a village. Well, the teachers and staff of EJE are a part of our village. There is a strong sense of community. Most all of the teachers and staff know my child by name. Most also know my youngest who doesn’t even attend EJE yet. The school and principal work hard to be sure the kids are happy, safe and learning. It is an inclusive school. My daughter was in a class, last year, with children who have special needs ranging from hearing to autism. I have really appreciated this aspect because it has instilled a certain camaraderie and respects amongst the kids. My daughter has excelled. Grades are good. Testing has been good. She is currently reading at a 7th grade level and is in advanced math. She is in fourth grade. Teachers have worked very hard to keep her challenged. There are extra curricular activities like chorus. Great school events such as International Night, Movie Night, Bingo, the Talent Show, Science Expo...the list goes on and on. The PTA gets stronger everyday. Overall, no place is perfect but this school is as close as it gets! Thank you EJE!

My family has been very happy with Esther Jackson and how it has continued to improve over the past few years our children have been there. There's no question the Principal and Teachers are great and create a very comfortable/accepting learning environment.

AWFUL. There is such a lack of interest in how/what the kids are learning.

My daughter attended EJE from K-5th, graduating in 2014. Things were a bit rocky at first, but it was due to the ridiculous pressure placed on the teachers, teachers 'retiring', and issues with the previous principal. The principal who started in the 2013/14 school year gave a breath of fresh air to the students and faculty! One reason I love this school is the diversity! The school is in one of the most diverse clusters (districts) in Georgia, which is wonderful for the children....

We have been there for 2 years and it seems to be luck of the draw with teachers. 1st year my son's teacher was only interested in telling me her problems with my son, not in helping to do anything about it. 2nd year teacher went above and beyond to help his focus and was instrumental in getting his ADHD diagnosed and under control. VERY little parent involvement; it seems like you see the same small group of parents doing everything. Things are handled very lackadaisically as well - carpool may or may not have teachers out at any given time, et cetera. It's been adequate, but not impressive.

Esther Jackson is incredible! My kids love it there and have so many life-enriching and fulfilling opportunities. Student government, morning news crew, chorus, TAG, and the talent show are just a sample of the things that get my kids turned on to Esther Jackson. Overall I ve found the teachers to be caring, kind, skilled, and professional. This is a great neighborhood school with a great staff. My kids are excelling and cannot wait get up and walk to school in the morning. Tough to beat!

We really love Esther Jackson. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and sweet. The school is very diverse as well. There are families from all different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, which is very important to us. They do focus a lot on the CRCT, but teaching for the test isn't the end of the world, in my opinion. Parents should be the first educators anyway. In all, we are very pleased with EJE and can't wait for next year!

Loved this school for Georgia Pre-K. Ms. Glen and Ms. Carole are great :) If you volunteer, tutoring the kids is very rewarding.

We have been very happy with the staff at Esther Jackson. Our children have done very well especially our older child. HOWEVER, the biggest problem I've had is that the entire curriculum has been based on "how to pass the CRCT." I understand the importance of standardized tests but really! My third grader hasn't read a book in his reading class since before winter break and before that he only did two or three. Shouldn't part of their education be based on actually reading a book and discussing the who, what, when, where, and most importantly WHY? This is just another example of the failure of "No Child Left Behind." Unfortunately this school (despite all the many positives) is the epitome of "teaching to the test." I find it very unfortunate and we are exploring charter schools as a result.
