We have had a wonderful experience at Centennial. Teachers are dedicated, students are engaged, and the administration is involved and present. The culture at the school, led by the principal and carried out by the entire staff, is one of community and relationship. Students feel cared for and valued. Go Knights!

We have been extremely happy with our students' experiences at Centennial High School. The diversity of the school is a beautiful asset. Our students have been rigorously challenged in their academics. They have so many options to pursue avenues of interest. Our middle child has thoroughly enjoyed their German classes and participating at the State German Convention. Our oldest child has been drawn to exploring different career paths through the law and health sciences elective offerings. Both students have participated in performing arts through concert band and Marching Band. The AP and honors course selection has my middle child on trajectory to fulfill their goal of attending GATech in engineering. My oldest child has benefitted from the Socratic style of her International Baccalaureate classes. The teachers and staff are invested in the students and their relationships inspire students to dig deeper and push harder. Centennial High School is a fabulous community and wonderful place to learn.

My student attended private school for K-8. Centennial is our first public school experience and it has been fantastic. My student is excelling, his teachers are engaging, knowledgeable in their respective subject areas, and provide a warm and challenging environment for growth and learning. The entire staff is supportive and wants the best for our students and community as a whole. Such a positive community that I’m happy my child is a part of.

Centennial is a very safe school with an exceptional staff. Each and every teacher is so enthusiastic, committed to teaching, and takes pride in the students success. I am so impressed with the athletics program, and the dedication of the football staff. Amazing school!

Learning:It is a rarity you will find students who are motivated to learn. The pressure put on grades only stuns students' growth and numbers are always the focus. Because the grading system is based on statistics without any kind of consideration for outside pressures or circumstances. Teaching:Teachers are very much a gamble. Some are wonderful and are always willing to support students while others, I'd say a good 60%, have no consideration for students' actual education or well-being. There seems to be a tense relationship between admin and teachers as well. Social-emotional support:Posters are posted around the school of school-based resources for students but as a former student myself... no help whatsoever. There is a MASSIVE equity problem in Cen10 that is never addressed and always ignored. Ask admin or teachers about how a new policy may be discriminatory the blame is shifted to someone else.Special Education:The biggest issue with the Special Education classrooms in Centennial is the lack of integration with the rest f the school. All the classes are clumped together at the end of the school in one low lit hallway. There is no effort to socialize the students. There are no opportunities for students to help or support Special Education classrooms. Seperate from the Special Education classrooms but in the same realm, there are several students with learning disablities or mental illness that are never taken into consideration when tracking their progress in the academic setting.Safety:Fights and threats are common but usually not really an issue between students as its kinda the norm, which of course says a lot about the overall culture in the school. However, I was at Centennial when there was a stabbing in the cafeteria. The cafeteria was not dismissed, people who witnessed it noted the lack of urgency in teachers responses, the school did not go to a lockdown despite that being the school policy. Class continued as usual that day and my group were the next in the cafeteria and they acted as nothing had happened.Family Engagement:There is rarely positive communication between school and parents. If your parents heard something from the school its bad. Tying this back to the stabbing incident, statements are written and released to parents and the local news. No details are included but false reinsurance of their care is guaranteed.Cen10 has problems like every school but its unique in inaction.

The administration has no clue what is going on in the school. There are boys throwing trash cans over the stalls hitting anyone who is in it. When I called they all acted like they cared but they kept transferring me to another admin and this went on for about an hour. Finally 2 weeks later they called me back they told me everything they could that was calling me a liar but actually saying that. There was some racial things going on also and they had no clue when I called. The teachers will call you over the dumbest things your kids do like sharpen their pencils to much. I moved to this district just for the schools because the ratings was amazing but now I regret it and can’t sell my house.. I wish my kids never had to go to this school I absolutely hate it

Centennial has been an excellent school so far for my older kids. They have been challenged in AP classes; the teachers have been great, and they love the traditions and school culture. The cross country team has been one of the best things for my kids! Highly recommend it as a way to meet people as a freshman (since they start running practice in the summer before school starts), and instantly know kids in all grades. My kids find the students genuine and authentic; we love the diversity, and the film/AV club. I look forward to my younger children attending Centennial! I am in real estate, and have toured many local schools. North Fulton has amazing schools, and Centennial is one of them!

I couldn't have asked for a better high school for both of my kids, and I have one in the Special Needs and one in all advanced classes and they each are doing great and having a great experience!

Going to this school is the worst decision of my life. I wish I had dropped out and gone somewhere else. I have requested if I can give my diploma back. I am embarrassed to put this school on my resume.

Our son has had a good experience there. He has challenging classes and the school has excellent AP and honors level teachers for demanding subjects. We will have two children at the school next year and are looking at the IB program for our second one.

So far so good, one of my daughters has bullied by other student, the school contacted me immediately and took all the necessary procedures to make sure this will never happen again. Teachers always take care for the students and there special needs.

Centennial has been a fantastic experience for both of my kids. They have told me they can't imagine being in another school! They are academically challenged with great classes, and are thriving in the excellent environment offered at Centennial.

My son has thrived in the CHS environment, both academically and in sports and volunteer opportunities. Academically, there has been enough to challenge him... and when he had difficulties in an AP course, the teacher offered many opportunities to help him understand, recover, learn and move forward.

My experience at this school has been phenomenal! The teachers care about the students and their success and the leadership in the school truly cares about the arts and extracurriculars. Bad reviews of this school may be true but only in on-level classes because of the behavior of these students. Any upper level classes are beyond extraordinary and this should be considered one of the best high schools in the area.

Centennial high school is a great school I recommend it to anyone in the area people like to talk about how bad the school is but they don't know how sheltered and how safe the school and its workers make it for there employees and students they have never been to a south Gwinnett high school or ones who aren't near as decent so bad comments don't determine the truth of the school.

I have two freshman half way through their first year at CHS and we have had a positive experience with both. The administration and faculty are engaged, responsive and regularly communicate with parents. If you have a child who values education and understands their role in development, these teachers are there for them!I love the community the school fosters as well. There are lots of dedicated parents and staff in all of CHS's activities, clubs and organizations. Sometimes the standard "scores" are misleading and I feel so much of what's great about this school is overlooked by parents who don't take the time to be involved in a school. So if you're unsure about where you want to buy your next home, talk to the community first- those who have kids in the school and those who are thriving because of it.

Centennial is definitely not a safe environment for learning. Fights break out often and there are lots of drug sales on the grounds. Most teachers there seem to just read from the book (if they "teach" at all) and students have to go and learn the material on their own time.

Centennial is the best kept secret in North Fulton County! Opportunities for all students to thrive in education and sports. Centennial had the highest number of early admission to UGA of all North Fulton Schools for the last two years! 2016 Centennial will offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program only one of two North Fulton schools to offer this very sought after program! Great teachers, great location!
