For both our children, Atlanta Academy has been outstanding. So far we've attended two private schools and two public schools in two different states, and Atlanta Academy is by far the best of them all. While no school is perfect, administration works very hard to provide a safe and welcoming environment that balances rigor with the need for students to not be overwhelmed with homework and assignments outside school hours. I'd say we've had a mixed range of teachers over our years here, but most have been great - attentive, creative, knowledgeable, and caring, they act as active partners in helping our kids grow into resilient, compassionate, and well-rounded people. Whenever we've had concerns or critical feedback the school has actively listened to and addressed it. They work to install critical and fundamental core values and work habits that students will carry with them throughout their lives. As a relatively new family to the area, perhaps the aspect I appreciate most of all is the community this school fosters.

What a wonderful school Atlanta Academy is! Everyday our son tells us he loves his new school! We are so grateful for the wonderful teachers and administrators that make this Blue Ribbon school so exceptional. Atlanta Academy develops strong character in its students, like integrity, compassion and respect. There is zero tolerance for bullying and the staff is very supportive of the students and their well being. They prepare kids for high school with a challenging curriculum. I can't say enough good things, would give 10 stars if I could!!!!

I have three children, two of them graduated from 8th grade at Atlanta Academy. They were there since kindergarten and 3K. My third daughter also attended PK2, but we moved, and we couldn't continue. Atlanta Academy is a very special place. It’s a beautiful community. The school's values, the activities, the teachers, the principals—everything in general was excellent. I highly recommend the school.

We choose to take our daughter out of our highly rated public school system and to send her to Atlanta Academy for middle school. She was in 2/3rd during Covid and really got left behind. Administration was also slow to approve testing for learning disabilities. We choose AA because YES they do offer several programs for children of all learning abilities. Our daughter was able to bring her IEP and we knew all her accommodations would be met in a small setting with a high level of accountability from the faculty. But this school didn't just offer the academics we wanted it also had an amazing arts and music education which is not forfeited as it is many other places. We are also not religious and we were thrilled to find a school that feels more inclusive to people of all faiths wail also using it as an opportunity to teach. After 1 year my daughter is not only thriving she has blown past all expectations. If I had the money I'd send all my kids here tomorrow. When the younger grades contribute by reading or performing in front of a packed auditorium I am truly impressed. Wow. I am also amazed by how many teacher have come to this school FOR their children. They love the school so much they have joined the faculty. That to me speaks volumes. Don't pass this school up over 1 reviews on yelp. Take the tour and make an informed decision for yourself. So far we are beyond thrilled and excited for more to come.

My son has attended Atlanta Academy for middle school and it is the best decision we made for his education. Parents often hear that middle school is hard no matter where your student is at school. That is simply not the case at Atlanta Academy. The faculty and staff genuinely want their students to excel and provide support when it is needed, which has developed great self-confidence in our son. Atlanta Academy has continued to foster his love for learning and provided great in and out of classroom opportunities. While Atlanta Academy ends at eighth grade, we are confident that our son will excel in high school and beyond because of his experience at Atlanta Academy.

We love Atlanta Academy! From the moment our children stepped on campus they were welcomed and loved on by their teachers and the administration. We instantly felt that we were a part of an amazing school family. The small class size allows their teachers to meet them where they are at, which is something not offered in public school. The school genuinely believes in the "school family" approach and provides regular opportunities for parents to get involved through events, as well as day to day activities.

If you're looking for a school that feels like family, Atlanta Academy is it! It is the best combination of academic rigor, athletic and enrichment experiences and opportunities to build character and community! I can't say enough good things about the teachers, families and students here!

We wish that we could give it more than 5 stars. This school has been a blessing for our child, we wish we would have started him earlier than 4th grade. The kindness that you receive from the moment you enter the doors is boundless. The teachers, staff, administrators and everyone you come into contact with is the most caring and empathetic we have witnessed ever and this is our second child. They started a new lunch program which has been a hit with our child! He is eating foods that he won't try at home. He is coming home teaching us things he has learned in the executive functioning class. They do not tolerate meanness, bullying or any other form or unkind behaviors. They stand behind their word. Their counselors are there if you need them and are the best! The school nurse is kind and communicates and it makes you feel good, when your child is not feeling well and you can't get to them fast enough. They feel LOVED. When our kids are away from us longer than they are with us during the day, I would not choose any other place than Atlanta Academy. It says they are a Christian school, however there are kids from all faiths at this school. The specials activities (art, STEAM, music, drama, etc) are amazing and all of the teaching staff thinks out of the box. They are allowed to be creative and they keep the kids wanting to learn more. I just wish they had a high school.

Our son has been attending Atlanta Academy since he started Kindergarten in 2019. Since our first day, we have loved our experience at the school. We have found the teacher and administration to be passionate, approachable and consistently striving for excellence. Our son loves going to school each day and the focus on active hands-on learning and small class sizes has made learning fun. Atlanta Academy is so much more than a school, it is an engaged supportive and safe community.

I truly feel this school is giving my children a well rounded education. AA's STEAM, Art, music and Spanish classes are beyond incredible, and We have had the joy of amazing, energetic and caring teachers in the several years that we've been there (between my kids, we've covered 1-6th). My kids enjoy going to school & they always talk about their days with smiles. We've had great support from the other staff when needed (counselors, front desk, coaches, office staff, etc). That being said, both of my kids are average/ above average academics and do not require any additional services or accommodations, so I can't speak for that end. They do a "morning prayer" with the whole school every morning, but the 'prayer' part of it consist of a student- written prayer, which generally includes quotes of famous people related to the character trait of the month they are talking about. There are many students who "Thank God" in their daily prayers when speaking, but there is no real biblical references or theology beyond that. I feel the school also has a great diverse group of students.The only thing I find frustrating is the head of school is VERY strict when it comes to dress code and it seems a bit over the top (to the point where kids get a demerit for not wearing a belt one day and I had to go purchase new shoes the day he came home for him because they were a heathered gray/black, not a solid color- creating a lot of stress for me and him). Both of my kids find the homework manageable, especially when tutorial available after school from 3-4pm (included in tuition) which is super helpful when both parents work & sports kick in from 4:30+ 4 days a week. I also love that they have an inclusive / no cut sports program for 5th- 8th grade. My son has thrived on a team and it truly has given him one more place to fit in and build those relationships and I know will serve him well as he gets older. They offer a great range of after school activities including a musical/play every year, sports, and various things like art/STEAM, cooking, debate, Rock Band, chess, etc- but it was a bit of a turn off at the steep price point on some of these clubs. The sports are priced well.Overall, we're a happy AA family, especially when we compare it to our local elementary that was not serving our children well.

This school has been life changing for my children. They LOVE school! The teachers and administration are caring and responsive. The curriculum is challenging yet the teachers make learning enjoyable. The students learn independence and organizational skills early on. Our experience has been nothing but positive. We love Atlanta Academy!

Atlanta Academy has been an answered prayer for our child! We toured many private schools in the Atlanta area and this campus just felt like home the moment we stepped on campus. Our son has been attending the school for 4 years now. He absolutely loves school and my husband and I have enjoyed watching him grow as an individual both social and academically. The teachers are top notch, the arts program is amazing and the campus is beautiful and safe. We could not be happier and would encourage everyone to tour the school and experience this gem of a school for themselves!

Our child graduated from Atlanta Academy last year, and I could not disagree more with the reviews below. I am so disheartened to read the reviews and have to wonder if someone had a personal vendetta against the school. Atlanta Academy was always welcoming to our children, and the academics and social/emotional support that they received was bar none. The teachers knew every child and truly connected with them to learn their passions and areas where they might need more support. There were certainly some rough years in COVID, but through it all, the care and concern that was shown was something that my friends did not experience with their respective schools. I would highly recommend this school as our children began in Preschool and experienced all grade levels. Is it perfect? No. Were there challenging times? Absolutely. But our children have confidence in high school and know how to advocate with their teachers and adults in a respectful manner.

Atlanta Academy is an amazing school!! It is clear that all of the administrators and faculty are completely invested in the students and work tirelessly to have an inclusive environment by teaching students to love each other, their families, the community, and the environment.

We had the worst experience with this school. This is largely due to a change in the head, however, there are issues with several of the teachers/staff as well. Sadly, we know of a few families who are fleeing this school as a result of the negative changes and several more who are on the verge of making a change. Ms. Dishman ran this school with heart and compassion and had a true love for her students (all of them... not jus the ones who fit some preconceived mold). This is no longer the case. Now, things are run more like a dictatorship. If your child is different, has any atypical qualities, or needs any accommodations, this is NOT the place for you. There is no sense of community if your child doesn't fit in. Particularly if your child has less obvious challenges. Appreciate diversity, inclusivity, acceptance and support? Then this is NOT the place for you. It's also not a secular school (there is a lot of talk of a Christian god, although they will allow students to talk about their own beliefs ). The head was condescending, patronizing and will gaslight you if you try to bring any issues her way. I have no idea why she's even in the position because it seems clear to me that she doesn't even like kids. There are some wonderful teachers there though and it's a shame they have to work under the fears of the management. Views are antiquated, regressive, narrow, and backwards. This school needs new blood with a fresh, innovative perspective but sadly they chose to bring back the old, traditional, and outdated. Sadly, the negatives go well beyond what I have room to share here and I am happy to share the specifics of my experience if anyone is interested. The take away is to save yourself a lot of time, money, and energy and send your child to a different school. I wish we had made a different decision and saved our child a lot of heartache.

if i could give this school 6 stars i would! i was a student and graduated last year and i attended atlanta academy for 9 years. there is nothing but love for this school in my heart. as a teenager, it’s hard to consider school your safe place, but atlanta academy was my home. i felt as if i was pushed academically in a good way which lead to my succeeding currently in high school. i was surrounded by my favorite people who i can always call my best friends and teachers who never failed to help me, listen to me, and support me. the course options helped me find my passion for giving back to my community and i was able to learn skills such as public speaking, global leadership, and more. i was a multi-sport athlete and a debater at the same time. i was also in all of my school plays and excelled in clubs. atlanta academy has helped me form a strong academic knowledge and life long friendships. i will be forever grateful for this school and for the relationships i’ve made because of it.

Unfortunately the administrative changes have changed this school in a negative way. The head of school is not willing to hear issues regarding bullying and is more concerned with uniform adherence than the mental and emotional health of her students. Inclusivity is lacking and don't be fooled into thinking this is a secular school. There is morning prayer every day that leans heavily towards Christianity. Take your money elsewhere.

I wish I could give zero stars. One of the worst schools to work for. Absolutely zero support from admin. The lower school “head” has the worst communication skills I have ever seen. Would not recommend this school to anyone I know to enroll their child or work for Atlanta Academy. This school year has been an absolute disaster.

My children have attended Atlanta Academy for three years now and so far, so good. Leadership is effective, parents' concerns are heard, and my children love it. The curriculum is rigorous but the school offers teacher-led tutorial Monday through Thursday from 3 to 4 that is included in the tuition.

We’ve had our 2 daughters at this school (7 and 9 years old) for four years now. We are extremely pleased with the school in every way. We intend to continue here through eighth grade then attend Wesleyan for high school (Lord willing).
