Amazing Islamic School with a very strong focus on academics and STEM-related skills

The Teachers give 200% for their students and work hard, but the lack of a professional experienced administration is dragging this school further and further down and causing good professional staff to look elsewhere. The staff turn over at this school says everything. As much as I love this school it is run not by an administration but by a parent board with no experience or education and they only hire administrators who are willing to be board figure heads so there is no independent administration as required by accreditation. This school has an amazing potential. The teaching staff alone is what is keeping this school afloat. They are some of the best people I have ever met in my life. But the board really needs to get it together and look into what Accreditation says their role should be or they will end up just like Dekalb county schools loosing the accreditation because of their knee jerk reactions and personal vendettas and unwillingness to allow professional administration.

We love ILM Academy. My son is there in PreK now, and he has had a wonderful experience. The teachers are patient, thoughtful, well-educated, and genuinely *kind*. Their love for their students shows through in their actions. Even when my son was struggling with some life changes, his teachers and administrators encouraged me to stay with them, talk to them, and we all came up with a plan together. We cannot put into words how much we love the school. His PreK class has 7 students in total, and he learns Arabic & Quran/Islamic Studies several days a week on top of his regular STEAM curriculum. He is only halfway through PreK and is reading over 2 dozen sight words, doing simple addition and subtraction, and he is teaching me words in Arabic!

I have 4 kids there and we've been with Ilm since 2009, we are happy that Ilm Academy teaches all the subjects plus the Arabic, Quran and Islamic studies.

This is to the previous reviewer. This is an Islamic school and I don't think it's fair to put down the school because they have mixed gender classes. Seriously ? The school has things to improve and I think they will. The Pre-K program is awesome!
