The best school ever I really loved it so much

This school is bad at best, borderline chaotic at worst. Behavior issues and bullying are off the charts and the teachers are well aware and do absolutely nothing. My child experienced severe bullying, was exposed to other children doing drugs and committing other illegal acts on campus, and fell through the cracks in their academic endeavors and the staff was of no help. Despite telling the staff and other adults who work there about what was going on, the inappropriate behaviors they were witnessing, and the severity of the bullying they experienced, nothing but empty promises were made. My child suffered severe mental health issues as a result of some specific events they endured. I have heard other parents express similar concerns and share stories about their child being severely bullied and abused and not being helped by staff, despite staff being well aware of the issue. As a concerned parent I reached out to try and bring light to this issue and the staff was extremely rude. My second child went to this school years later and was faced with threats to their physical well-being and the consequences were minimal. The quality of behavior in the school seems to be declining rapidly as my second child reports witnessing far worse behaviors than my first child did. I am actually moving my child from this school out of concern. I’d give 0 stars if I could, sincerely. Please consider an online option or otherwise as opposed to sending your child here. We as parents need to spread word about this and prevent any more children from enduring harm.

The school is over all terrible. The staff is rude, inconsiderate, and cares nothing about the education or we’ll being of any of its students. The teaching is the worst. It’s a situation where the staff just wants to go to work and get out of there as soon as possible. They provide zero communication to the parents when it comes to the care or concerns for their students. Did I mention how rude the staff is? Also very disorganized. I would be embarrassed to be the person in charge of these employees. This school doesn’t even deserve one star.

Unfortunately, this school has went from a great school to a not so great school. There are so many behavior issues that consumes the teachers time, that they do not have the time to truly teach! All students are not treated equally. There is not a lot of positive reinforcement/acknowledgement to those kids who work hard to stay our of trouble and keep their grades up and truly want to learn. The new principal is not a people person and does not know how to interact with the students or the parents. He is not visible in the school much. I have faith in the restoration of Rifle Middle School and getting back to a great school as there is a lot of wonderful staff that are at RMS. With different administration, RMS can be great again!

Does anyone know what happened to Mr. Melendez? He taught at RMS in the 80's (maybe more).
