My children (one currently a junior, the other a college freshman) received an excellent education at Ridgewood High School. The breadth of courses is impressive. The teachers really care about the students and are always available after hours at school or by email. Students are encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities, and there is truly a sport or activity for every interest. The staff and counselors are caring and work hard to promote a supportive learning environment.

High School is good for kids without any special needs. The Child Study Team is extremely unfair and failing to provide services according to IDEA codes and regulations. The District Child Study Team is not supportive and fail to provide what is required by codes and regulations. Very old system and very bureaucratic.. We moved to the district only for the school and its extremely disappointing. If you have a child with special needs, High School is not the place. Town is High taxed and not providing even to what the children with needs are entitled to. In further research we have found that many families in town who have kids with some kind of a need going through advocates and lawyers trying to get the "Free and Appropriate Education the children entitled to.

Great school providing outstanding learning opportunities for its student body. Great academics and wide variety of sports/extra curricula activities yield independent, well rounded students who are well prepared for higher education. Community is supportive and involved. Principal is new but off to a good start.

A recent alumnus of RHS, I have found that the academic rigor and community at the school has undoubtedly prepared me for entering college and the workplace. The school offers a wide swath of AP classes, reinforced by excellent and approachable teachers that encourage enthusiasm for the material. Moreover, numerous friends I've talked to have mentioned an easy adjustment to college essays thanks to their high school experiences. While RHS not only builds an academic foundation, the community is also quite strong; I absolutely loved about five or six classes not only because of the teachers, but also because it was so much fun to interact with the rest of the people in the class. I bumped into someone from high school who I hadn't seen for two years, and we were reminiscing about some of those very classes. All in all, I would highly recommend RHS.
