This school lacks communication, and are very unorganized. They don’t address bullying issues and sweep everything under the rug. Very disappointed in this school I expected more of a close knit community and got none of that!! The parents are not friendly, and the PTA is beyond laid back and want to do nothing fun for the kids, every idea gets turned down.

This is a fantastic school. The teachers and administration are wonderful. Class sizes are small compared to most other public schools. There is very little teacher turnover. Teachers really get to know each student. This school goes above and beyond to help each child succeed.

There is no doubt that this school is a wonderful school. However, children living around the school are not readily accepted. Those children have to be bused to overcrowded schools elsewhere in District 26. The Auburndale Improvement Association, the local civic organization, has been advocating for years that PS 130Q be returned to the community as a neighborhood school. We have gathered hundreds of petition signatures, many with comments advocating for the return of the school to the community. This school is geographically in District 26, although it is used by District 25 students. Historically, the school was a K-6 and a K-8 school for neighborhood children. The return of the school has the support of Queens Community Board 11 and the Queens Civic Congress. The Auburndale Improvement Association will continue to work with residents and elected officials until the school is returned for the use of neighborhood children. We are willing to meet with and work with school officials to discuss this issue.

This school is a fantastic school. We are very lucky to be here. I have a son starting 1st grade in the fall and a daughter entering pre-K and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. This is a small school- which means student to teacher ratio is way better than other public schools nearby. This school used only offer pre-K to 3rd until last year. This year they have approval to restructure the school to have the full pre-k to 5th grade. It will take a couple of years to get all the grades settled but when that's done, there will be 2 classes per grade. Everyone at the school feels like family and the students are just happy to be there. My son asks to go to school on the weekends too! I can't say enough about the teachers. They are absolutely wonderful and really care about your child on an individual basis. My son has really grown academically and socially. The principal and assistant principal have a strong presence and make things happen. Given the limited budget, we still get so many resources thanks to all the efforts of school administration and the PTA. This school is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School.

This school is a little gem that gets overlooked sometimes for being a PK-3. It is a small school considering they are sharing the building with another school. There is no auditorium and a small gym space given the fact that it is a small school. The school is very resourceful in using their space wisely. My daughter is in K right now and I'm excited to see what will come next. The principal, teachers and administration are great and very caring.
