Currently have one child graduating from PS 32 and another child starting, this school has provided a safe and nurturing environment for my older child for the 6 years he has attended, every teacher he has had was without fail caring and invested in his education, social and emotional development. The paraprofessionals were all wonderful for him as well. He is always excited to see school staff outside of school and they always warmly greet my child by name, even the Kindergarten staff that haven't had him in a class for 6 years, which shows they have developed personal bonds. I cannot overstate how well the school staff adapted to continue to provide a stellar experience for my children during covid and post-covid. The parents and PTA are also very active and invested in the well being of the students. The only downsides I can think of is the school building itself is small for the student body, construction is underway to double the size of the building. And pickup can feel very chaotic with so many students but that I think that speaks to how many neighborhood families want their children to attend PS 32.

I used to be a student at this school and overall had a great time although I will say bullying was a big issue. I used to be picked on a lot and was called to the office or guidance counselor almost everyday, where I would be told it was my fault that I was being bullied. My mom was fed up with my constant whining about being bullied so she scheduled a meeting with the principal. When she went for that meeting it seemed like the vice principal was doing most of the talking, and being very rude to. She was constantly trying to take me being bullied and turn it back on my mom. Bullying is an issue in this school although the teachers are super nice and make classes fun. I am now a freshman at SFP and still remember the bullying that’s went on at that school

Teachers are teachers just for the time off they get, not because they want to be with children

This is a great school. My children love to go to school everyday. They improve a lot for both reading and math. One of my children is in 2nd grade, and another one is in kindergarten. Their teachers are very nice and helpful. The principal is also great.

Both of my kids go to this school and we think it's a really good school. One of my children started off in a regular K and 1st grade class and later on made it into the GNT program. It's a great program! The younger child started off in PreK and got into the GNT program too! Teachers are quite nice and helpful at all levels! The principal is very friendly and is always around when you need her.

My children have been a part of the PS 32 community for the past 3 years. Eldest is now in 2nd grade and youngest in kindergarten. The teachers just keep getting better each year. Both boys have needed OT and/or speech and their therapists have been amazing. The social support team and teachers have been instrumental in my children adjusting well from a move from BK to Queens as well as a divorce. They handled the crises (shooting in CT and man wandering in Flushing) extremely well and the teachers and staff kept the children calm and were in control the whole time. I'm extremely proud of both their educational and personal achievements and firmly believe this school is a big reason for this progress. I wish the school could offer more in terms of physical ed and cultural arts but that is a system wide problem, not unique to this school. I look forward to what the next 3-5 years will bring for my children.

I have 2 kids at this school. Both of them love it so much, and can't wait to go back to school. They even asked to go school after hurricane Sandy damaged the power pole. They both love their teachers from deep of their heart. I hope they will get nice teachers as last year. School staffs are very friendly and helpful, too. Nothing to complain.

I have three children at PS 32 and they are all very happy here. Most of the teachers and staff work very hard to support the children. The principal seems to be trying to improve the school. The PTA is very active. The safety officers/crossing guards are excellent!

I love PS 32. I have 2 kids at the school in 4th and kindergarden. They have been attending PS 32 since PK. I love that the PK is an all day program and the school is very focused on reading and writing. My kindergardener is reading at an advance first grade level. The school is always clean. The teachers are welcoming and friendly, always willing to answer any questions or concerns. I would hate to move out of the neighborhood just not o loose this school. I'm looking forward to sending my youngest to PK in the coming year. Te only reason why I gave it four stars is because not every classroom is equipped with a smartboard and not all the children get to use the gym. Otherwise it's a great school.

Very unhappy here. The new Principal hides from the parents and staff. She is controlled by the VP and someone who I think is a guidance counselor who knows nothing about children. The school does not address any bullying and hides terrible occurances from all those not privy to the information (serious stuff) Nothing is followed up. Children of certain parents (example a parent who is on the quality review board) are not reprimanded. Nothing is addressed. The guidance counselor makes poor decisions and does not handle any bullying situations. My children have been punched, kicked, shoved, screamed in their ears, My children have been called terrible names, and when I am in the school yard I hear from other parents that their children have suffered the same. Something is wrong here. My children will not be returning in September. This school needs a huge overhaul on how bullying is handled, how the principal and staff interact with parents and how if a child is to be reprimanded it should be meeted out accordingly and followed up. It is not done.

I have a child in kindergarten at PS32 and I would like to say that the teacher is compassionate and I feel the needs of my child are meet. I am impressed with the homework they are given. In the beginning of the year it was challenging but as the year progressed we got into a routine. In my childs weekly homework packets, a few of the pages are geared for 1st and 2nd graders. Part of the homework is having the parent engage the child with reading activities and having the parent initial the homework with the title of the book that they read. After speaking with the teacher in the beginning of the year, I was informed the homework was something new they started this year for kindergarten and I was asked my opinion about it. I like their approach and I look forward to sending my younger child to PS 32.

SE class was horrible, all they did was criticize my child and the principal is not doing anything. I'll be out soon.
