We built this school, great parents, good population. Sadly, during Covid the district had a few decisions that damaged school and the kids. It never returned to what it used to be. During BLM riots it became worse when the Superintendent announced of his support of BLM. School became woke. They hanged BLM flags, and made the kids draw BLM fists pictures. When my daughter ( she has light skin) told the teacher that all lives matter, she said it because we do believe that a person is not being judge by his race or color in the house, we are a mix family. The teacher was upset with her, and we felt that my daughter since then, "was not her favorate". Special need support was very bad. It begins with BSD, and continue at school. There was no communication for 2 month and then there was online service. A joke. Classes were very crowded and recesses were short. The teachers, many of them, are the reason to stay there. There are some amazing teachers who love their jobe.

Great teachers and very helpful staff. Talking to the teachers helped me understand the depths of the evaluation process and it was eye-opening experience.

It really is a wonderful school. I have a 504 for both my children and the staff and teachers have been a joy to work with. They have been accommodating and kind. The school is very inclusive.

School is good if students are doing good and Students are good if teachers are doing good. Please note there is no fixed curriculum and when we say learning it includes behavior, social etc in addition to reading, math and science. Also all teachers in same grade are not same. So my rating here is based on the my son's class teachers in K,1,2 and 3. School: Amenities/Facilities very good. Admin is good.Teachers/Staff: Very nice and no complaints from kid or us. My son loves going to school everyday. Remote learning during COVID was challenging but happy after reopening.Reading/Math/Science: Good materials, apps on device to encourage kids to read and do math. Parents involvement/help is needed for kid to excel and I think it's same for any other schools. It also helps in stronger bond between parents and kids.Only complain is - too much traffic for drop off and pick up. This is because of lot of construction nearby that increased number of students who cannot take bus. This is not school problem but across SD.

Sato Elementary failed to be inclusive or support my child. He was asked to attend this school as it had an EGC program that was intended to support him socially, emotionally and behaviorally. His teacher did a good Job with him, but the principal set a negative tone at the school. She was not supportive of the IA’s that worked with the EGC students, nor the parents. In our first experience We went 5 months without curriculum available for the children and not a single book or math manipulative for the children to learn with. They finally shut down the k-2 program for the remainder of the year and we went to a different school. However, we were asked to return the following school year with an amazing teacher. Unfortunately, the principle seemed annoyed by my continued offer of support, and was rude to me and others. In fact, it was so bad that she told me my son couldn’t walk through the building, he was asked to walk around. My son Hated coming to school. It was awful. I can not speak to the general Ed programs, as we did not have that experience, but the Sato EGC failed our child.

Sato is an amazing school that supports students as the whole child, academically, mentally and emotionally. The teachers are so nurturing yet structured and have provided an excellent framework for standards to be met. Sato has given my daughters a wonderful learning opportunity because they are supported daily, given many independent achievable and challenging learning goals and they are learning what it takes to be individuals with wonderful character traits.

This school is nice based on my experience since last 1 year. I have a twins and both are taking education with few extra curriculum activities. There is one of recommendations to have consistency in giving quality home works and field trips with adding more and more variety programs.
