This school has been such a blessing for our family. They have a very supportive staff and offer a wonderful education. You can truly tell the teachers care about their kids and they offer so much support to parents to help their child excel. They have before and after school care as well. I love that my child is learning about God and the Bible. I feel this school is such a safe haven in the scary place this world has become.

My granddaughter attends this school for the past two years. Honestly we can say she never been happier, she had attended another private school since kinder and it was getting to expensive, so we decided to transfer over to WSC it was the best decision we made. The staff is very friendly and so far her teacher is excellent she goes above and beyond to help!I attended a private school myself and I sure wish the nuns had been as kind and helpful as the teachers at WSC!I highly recommend this school, because of its academics ,leadership and most important they learn the word of God!

I love this school, but more importantly, my daughter loves this school! She started Kinder at another private school and within a few weeks, despite excelling academically, her spirit was broken and she was very unhappy. It was heart breaking to watch and in desperation I quickly made the decision to switch her over to WSC. What a blessing and answer to prayer that decision has been! My daughter quickly reverted back to her old self; she is happy, confident, and believes in herself again. WCS provides exactly what I hoped to get at a private Christian school. The campus has a very friendly, family-like feel to it. My daughter is loved, nurtured, and honored for who she is, all while getting a top-notch accelerated curriculum and quality education. Christian spirit and values are clearly upheld by staff and reinforced in the children. This school is a diamond in the rough! My daughter tells me often that she wants to stay at WSC all the way through 8th grade. I'm hoping they expand into high school! We are so grateful for WSC.

Teachers and Staff care about the children. They go above and beyond to help both academically and socially.

PARENTS BEWARE!!! I would never recommend this school to anybody. My daughter has ADD. The school claims they would work with her. There solution was to stick her on a computer all day long. To make matters worse my daughter was relentlessly bullied and the teachers and staff did nothing to stop it. Her grades,self-esteem and over all self image suffered greatly. I was reluctant to speak with the teacher as her daughter was the ring leader of the bullies. When I finally spoke to the teacher her response was your daughters annoying. I was shocked. No wonder her daughter had no problem teasing my daughter every day her mother/teacher condoned her behavior. The best decision I ever made was removing her from the school I just wish I would of done it sooner. Since I've switched schools my daughters grades have come up she's made tons of friend's and her self-esteem has been restored with month's of counseling. Please beware. Parents save your children heartache and go elsewhere. If I could give this review no star's I would. I write this review from one parent to another please for the sake of your children don't send them here.

As a former student, I was taught how to love and serve God. I valued my education, and I had teachers who knew how important education was in children’s lives. They taught me concepts that helped me in high school and further into my college career. Now as a college graduate, I can say that my education was rooted in WCS, and the education I received as a child and teenager helped me into my adult life. When choosing a school for my children, I will be choosing WCS. The teachers (some teachers who I had are still there) love and care for each child. They teach students academics, but most importantly teach them to love God.

As a former parent (my children attended this school K - 8th grades) and employee I can tell you the teachers are there for their love of God and children, definitely not the pay. They go out of their way to teach the academically challenged students with extra tutoring an/or subject modifications. All the faculty teach the students to love one another, be courteous, respectful and to hold themselves and each other accountable. This is accomplished in a Biblical, Christian, caring, loving manner. Every time an issue arises it is dealt with promptly and the administration goes above and beyond to resolve it. The teachers have various degrees of experience, eduation.Just because one has a

This school is run very poorly. Many of the teachers are mean and don't treat children with respect. One teacher called my daughter a liar and that they needed to get their facts straight. All of the good teachers moved and all the crummy ones are still their. If anything is wrong it is "unchristian" and that you will be sent to the lake of fire. Basically saying your kids will go to hell if they do something wrong. Their is also a lot of bullying. I would not recommend this school for anyone

I am complaining about a teacher that has been very rude to some parents. This teacher has told children that their parents are bad parents. And this teacher has yelled at their students for no reason. This teacher has no right to criticize how parents should raise their children. This teacher thinks that they are the best parent in the world and they compare you as a parent to how they would handle situations as a parent. They expect all the children to be angels and if they do anything wrong it is an "unchristian" thing to do. They give out way too much after school work so that the kids can't even be kids and go out to play. The teacher also loves to humiliate children in front of the class. And this teacher actually told one child "Do you have mental problems?" "Are you sick in the head?" because he/she was standing up for another kid in the class that this teacher yelled at for saying that he/she was finished with his/her work. I am not happy with how "unchristian" this teacher is.

As a former student, staff member, and a current church member (of 22 years) I can TRUELY attest to how distinguished Westside Christian School is. If you are looking for a school that only teaches God as a side note, then this is NOT the school for you. If you are looking for a school that is a huge family and all the staff members and teachers treat your children like their own and shows God's love in every situation then this IS the school for you. Children are taught morals, self discipline, and self control and they are challenged on a daily basis. I have seen WCS accept children who were denied at other schools because they believe in giving every child a chance and try to help them in every way possible. This place is and always will be my second home and every past student that I have come across cherishes the memories and years spent at WCS.

On this day where we are offering Thanks, (Thanksgiving Day Nov, 2014), we would like to thank Pastor Charles Miller and the Staff of Westside Christian School. Each teacher and supportive staff have helped in the spiritual and academic growth of each of my children. My husband and I are very grateful for the many times when we had questions the teacher or administration would take the time to meet with us. This is not a perfect school and my children are not perfect either, however they are willing to listen and help you to figure out a game plan for your child or pray with you if you need it. The teachers really love the children and pray for them daily. Again they are not perfect but they desire to follow the Lord and to serve Him. You are welcomed as a parent to attend their chapels and have fun participating and hearing God's word. You have a sense of belonging because ALL of the staff greets you its just not your child's teacher. Again thank you WCS for displaying God's love to our family.

I have been working at this school for a long, long time. I love God, and the children he has placed in my care over these years. No school is perfect because it is run by imperfect humans. We do our best with the gifts that God has given us. I am truly sorry for any behavior or attitude that may have pushed teachers, parents, or students out of our school. I pray that God is blessing you whatever school or job you're at now. May God's love be always and forever displayed in His people.

Being a former staff member the school is ran on nepotism. Many employees left or were forced to live in favor of keeping it all in the family. Also many of the staffers were singled out, and belittled by the former principal for bring grandparents as a result of the children's indiscretion. I now have moved on into another career, unfortunately it is not being with children

My child had a great experience at wcs 1st grade-3rd but the teacher for 1st and 2nd have since moved on. However, the school takes too conservative of a stance on many issues. If your child misbehaves, don't be surprised if the "lake of fire" is mentioned or if your child is asked if they know their behavior is "unchristian." Also, the focus is not on higher level and critical thinking skills, but on compliance and busy work. The administration is changing next year, but after the disaster of a school year we had, I'm not willing to find out if it will improve. Some of the office staff and teachers will treat your child poorly if your child does not fit their definition of a "good Christian child" raised by 2 parents, white, and passive. Bullying is a major issue at this site and teachers often embarrass the children if they perform poorly (my child is an A student). The morning day care person berates and often yells at the children. Most of the teachers do not have even a 2year college degree and little to no professional development. I pray this site does improve next year as currently it is damaging to children and a bad testimony. However, we will not be here to find out.

What is incredible to me is the amount of stupidity on this site from parents! No one questioned whether WCS teachers "has control of their students." Simply because you have parents who are investing cash into their child's education, parents who care about the morality and Christian values that their child has, thus you have better behaved kids in the room. Public school kids lack this because the education is FREE and unappreciated. Listen, you are free to think anyway you want, just as I am. How dare you question what I said? Voice your opinion and keep moving, and stop reading everyone else posts NOSY.

This school is the AV's best kept secret! At first, I was reluctant to send my son here because the school looked a bit run down, but it was the best decision ever! My son was previously going to Rancho Vista Elem. and it was way too crowed. The teacher had no control of the class, and the education was below par. My son is really learning now, and the class size is reasonable. No more than 24 kids. As far as the comment about the teachers not being qualified or not having credentials; let me put it to you this way: In Rancho Vista -a public school where all the teachers are supposed to have credentials and degrees, did not have control of the class as these teachers here do. And they certainly didn't teach at such high standards as WCS does! I would also like to know where that person got that information from? Please provide proof.

WCS provides excellent core academics and bible knowledge in a loving, caring atmosphere. Classes are small enough for the teachers to manage effectively while getting to know each student. This allows for any needs to be addressed and worked on. Contrary to other parents, I wish there was MORE emphasis on fundraising so additional ammeneties could be added (a cafeteria, gymnasium, paved parking lot, updated restrooms). Anyone doubting the abilty of the teachers needs only look at the Stanford Test scores before passing judgement. Degrees and "credentials" are useless if the teacher doesn't have the authority to control the classroom.

I found this school on the internet, I was desperate because the school that my girls were going to be was rated 4. I am so happy, my two girls are happy. I really recomend this school for parents that are looking for a place that can feel like a second home. They teach your children how to repect and their academics is great.

This is an amazing school. I moved my son who is now in second grade to this school from Cottonwood and my other son started this year in kindergarten. It is a caring environment where my kindergartner is already reading, and my second grade son is so happy to get up and go to a school where kids are kind and thoughtful. No bullying here; just a loving environment where kids feel safe and encouraged to learn and think about others.
