If you're different in any way, good luck. Administration has shown that if your children deviate from any norm—whether it be by their identity, disability, or where they came from—then there will be ZERO support. My son has experienced relentless bullying with no response despite multiple reports to staff. The death of Nex Benedict after years of being discriminated only pushes my own son towards stress and depression, which is affecting his learning. Because of this, I'm seriously considering pulling all 4 of my children out of the Owasso school district.

This school is wonderful the staff and teachers are amazing this is really wonderful school very recommend for everyone

I am a Senior and I attended this school & the MHS until the end of Sophomore year. I was singled out all through high school (by the staff) simply because I was "different". I had coloured hair, piercings, & dressed modest, but alternative. I never wore anything that violated dress code. One of the assistant principals suspended me for Truancy, simply because I walked across the street (AFTER SCHOOL) to the MHS to catch my bus. EVERYONE crosses the street after school. He told me this: "Well, if you were normal, then maybe everyone wouldn't single you out as much". He targeted me as much as he could. The kids never bullied me, either. Most of the teachers gave little or no effort to help me out when I needed it. Granted, there was a few that I absolutely adored, but I ended up applying for alt. school and I loved attending school there. If your child is "Alternative", bullied, has problems learning, or just prefers smaller classes: Apply for alternative school at RAM Academy.

I am an Owasso graduate with a 16 yr old autistic son. The Owasso Special Education services are phenomenal. I owe my son's success to the caring, patient and knowledgeable teaching staff. The teachers accommodated my son's needs and also pushed him to reach his full potential. The teachers are communicative and resourceful and truly want these children to succeed. Because of their hard work and patience, my son is mostly mainstreamed and is at or above grade level. They are also working toward preparing him for life after high school. These teachers are not just thinking about getting these kids through the school year. They are trying to assure that these kids become productive members of society and successful, happy adults.
