The teachers at Bailey are beyond outstanding. My son went here for 2yrs before we moved out of district. I'm not going to lie, this school was the reason I didn't want to move. The staff cares so much about the children and makes sure every kiddo is comfortable. They make learning fun and they're fantastic at communicating with parents.

When moving to Owasso, we pinpointed this school as our most desired school . We haven’t been disappointed at all! The teachers & administration have been great, even during the pandemic! We highly recommend this school .

Bailey is an award-winning school and the evidence is apparent in the way they have educated and treated my two children! I have two nieces and two children that have attended Bailey. All of us absolutely love this school and how much teachers and staff care for our children! And, trust me, one of mine was not easy!!

We have 3 kids who have all attended or are attending Bailey and have had nothing but amazing teachers and education. We are so blessed by the teachers and support staff who have cared for our children during some challenging times. Would HIGHLY recommend Bailey and it's stellar staff!

Bailey elementary is a great school. My kids have learned so much and their confidence is growing. There is a great sense of community amongst the parents and a willingness to collaborate to achieve great things. The teachers go above and beyond to ensure the kids are successful and have fun! We love Bailey!

I love Bailey! I have had three kids attend (2 currently), and each of them has had great teachers and no issues with bullying. In our experience, Bailey has top-notch academics, a wonderful TACK (gifted/STEAM) program, and a great speech therapy program. There are also several clubs/extracurricular activities for the older students (4th & 5th) to be involved in, such as Student Leadership Council, Academic Bowl, Robotics club, Honor Choir, and Ohitsuji Daiko Drum club. Bailey has friendly teachers and staff, parent involvement (with an active Booster Club), and a great sense of community. It is also a “Great Expectations” model school. Every time I attend an activity, I am reminded of how Bailey feels like family, and I am so thankful my kids have been able to attend here!

This school is great if you have a child who doesn’t have any areas they struggle with. Communication with the teachers is lacking and I only find out there are issues after it’s been going on for months. I had very high hopes and expectations for this school and have not been impressed. Test scores don’t tell the whole picture.

I absolutely LOVED my 5 years here at Bailey Elementary. Before coming to Bailey, I absolutely HATED school, just about every morning I cried begging not to go to school. But I just loved Bailey. The teachers were amazing, I only had two 'decent' teachers, but every school is bound to have at least a few of those. Otherwise everyone was so nice. Bullying was really not a problem during school. I made so many friends, in fact to this day I still am friends with many. I never had to deal with drama either! I also love how they give students a chance to help take lead and have leadership and such important roles in the school. I myself, was an ambassador. My sister goes here currently, though she did have a bit of a teacher problem as well, it was taken care of. She loves going to Bailey. The principal is AMAZING along with the councilors. This school was awesome and helped me so much.

School has great expectations program and teaches to students from Kindergarten at least (that's when we started here). My now 7 y/o daughter has loved this school. We lived in apartments when we first moved to Owasso and got to go to Mills as well. We liked Bailey so much we chose to buy a house in the school district. Has been a great experience so far. Teaching staff very involved and vested in children's success.

We have had a wonderful experience at Bailey. The teachers have been wonderful and communicate well, through email, class Facebook pages, and a class texting system. My daughter is in 2nd grade and has been here since pre-k. Starting with kindergarten, they rotate between Gym, music, and computers for specials, and she loves them all! She is learning to type, use PowerPoint, and use Google Earth in computers! They play lots of different games in gym, and occasionally get to roller skate! The music teacher also does a great job, and the specials they put on are fantastic! The booster club also does an amazing job, and I have been very excited to see the amount of parent involvement in this school. It's the best elementary school in Owasso! We're so happy to be in this district!

If I rated Bailey on my sons experience I would give them 5 stars. He attended Bailey from first to fifth grade. However, my son is analytically minded and very studious. I would give Bailey one star on my daughters experience (so I averaged it to a 3). Bailey said my daughter was struggling with reading in first grade and they were unwilling to get her some help beside the tier 2 intervention. They just wanted to retain her. Instead we got her some outside help (for a cost of $3,000) and she caught up. In second grade they thought she was doing great until the DIBLES test was taken in November and she was behind bench mark again. This time it's for reading fluency. Now they want to retain her again. I had to insist that she be moved to a tier 3 intervention so she could finally get some help from the reading specialist at Bailey. In our experience their first step at Bailey is retention instead of trying to fix the issue. One third of my daughters second grade class received a retention notice this year. Seem excessive to me. When I talked to a reading specialist at another school she said she would never retain a child for reading fluency.

I was looking forward to my son attending Bailey after hearing such great things about Owasso Schools. Four weeks into this year, I received a call from the counselor saying that my son was struggling, and they were concerned. They wanted to test him for special education. The school claimed that he had been struggling the year before, but I had not been informed. Unfortunately, his first grade teacher no longer teaches at the school. This school also claims to use the RtI process to give added support to students who are struggling. My son was never placed on an RtI tier. They were quick to test in order to protect their A-F Grade Card. There is almost NO communication from his teacher. His teacher rarely responds to e-mails. In fact, it take my husband e-mailing, after I have already sent an e-mail, to get answers to my questions. In short, I m not at all impressed. The teachers don t seem to put forth much effort. My son had a report to do that was presented in front of parents. As he was reading his report, he stumbled over some words. His teacher just let him flounder. My husband, from the audience, helped him with the words with which he was struggling.

Reading the past comments, I think a lot has changed over the last three years when a new principal came to Bailey. Teachers are wonderful. The Booster club is still cliquish.

We moved to Owasso from central Florida in Sept 2012, just a couple of weeks into my daughter's 1st grade year. The experience so far at Bailey has been phenomenal! The school that my daughter attended in Florida was lacking in many ways, and she had reached the point of crying every school morning and when I picked her up. Now, she LOVES school! Her teacher is amazing, the curriculum challenges her without being too difficult. I have seen efforts made to accommodate the different levels that the children are at. Those that need a little extra help are getting it, and those that are ready to move on are not stuck waiting for others. My daughter has needed help in some areas and been ahead in others, so we've seen it from both sides. I love that the children are taught and expected to be self sufficient and responsible. The Great Expectations program that is used is exactly what I want for my kids. They are providing quality education, and reinforcing good values and strength of character from a non-religious viewpoint. Every staff member that I have met has been pleasant and more than helpful. The parent and community involvement is more than I have ever seen at any school!

The reason that Bailey has high state and national level scores, is the atmosphere of forced/coerced retention of students. Children who have minor school difficulties are encouraged to repeat grades for "easy" years. My student has met benchmarks continually each grade, despite this, when reaching third grade, he was asked to return to second grade for concern he may not pass state testing. We were appalled. Little assistance is available for special needs children, and teachers are not very cooperative with IEP suggestions. Great school if your child is self-driven and needs little assistance.
