This is our first year at Mills. And we are very pleased with our experience here. My child’s teacher is very involved daily with my child and the class. I also appreciate that my child’s teacher is quick to respond to inquiries we have regarding classwork and assignments, even after hours. Our child had a very rough pervious school year out of state and we were concerned about her starting all over again in a new school. She has been welcomed in and has excelled all year. I appreciate the staff at Mills, and I feel as though the parent, teacher, student relationships are healthy and supportive. My only suggestion would be that it would be nice to see some sort of after school activities for the kids like a running club, or a little more open house activity like school plays where parents can attend and show support of their child. Regardless, my child and I have enjoyed our year at Mills and it’s been great.

I really wanted to like this school. It is a cute little older elementary. Unfortunately our experience was that if a child is ahead or considered gifted they are mostly forgotten about. The school seems to solely focus on bringing all students to grade level. Education is concentrated on anyone performing below so they can get them to where they should be. That’s fantastic for those students but not for others. You’d think a school would be thrilled to have above average bright young students and want to encourage further learning but it just doesn’t seem to be the case. Another issue is how they chose to handle bullying. It’s as if they want to discourage anyone coming forward to report it and those students who do are made to feel in trouble for doing so. Cornering young students to question them and then telling parents that if something was happening they would be aware of it. It just doesn’t create a very safe and comfortable feeling learning environment. Overall I found this school a disappointing experience.

Wonderful teacher, who compromise with the students to learn whatever takes for them to reach the goal. Kida re first no matter what.

Wow. My child comes home and tells us all about school. As a parent I am relieved that there is zero tolerance for bullying and that my child is taught until mastery. I wish schools like Mills existed when I was a kid!

My grandchildren attend this school, one in the 3rd grade and one in Kindergarten. Both are learning the necessary skills to function well in life. Not only are they satisfactorily being taught the academics but they are learning acceptable behavior & life skills that will help to promote right choices well into adulthood. They are consistently rewarded for good behavior through positive re-enforcement. Mills is a leader in laying the proper foundation for my grandchildren as they grow daily and learn to live and function in the fast-paced society of today.

I love how they teach Great Expectations. I love how the teachers truly care about the students and strive to make learning fun and something the students want to do.
