I went to this school and I graduated last year. I was constantly bullied and when I went to administration they made it seem as though it was MY fault this happened and defend the bullies. Also, the principal never engages with students or parents unless it’s convenient at open house, assemblies, graduation, etc. However, I had really nice and supportive teachers overall. But, my mental health was damaged from feeling humiliated when I was bullied and was laughed at by a group of kids after something was thrown at my head. These administrators don’t care about your child’s wellbeing or mental health whatsoever! Glad I finally graduated from this place.

THIS SCHOOL ALLOWS BULLYING. My daughter has been getting bullied. I’ve been up to the school, had a meeting with one parent, but the other child and her parent decided not to show up, and that is the girl STILL BULLYING MY CHILD. The teacher told my daughter to “handle it the right way”. My instructions to my daughter was to NOT interact with that girl, yet I have a teacher telling my daughter to “handle” it. If you try to take up for yourself, you get put in in-school detention. My daughter is currently a straight “A” student, but I am watching her self esteem slowly go away. I can’t wait to get my daughter out of this school at the end of the year. There are fights at this school 5 days a week, kids getting “jumped” every other day. It’s like a war zone there. The PTSD these kids must have once they graduate...smh. I don’t understand how kids can learn in an environment like this. And this was supposed to be one of the better schools in the south suburbs. I’m a Registered Nurse and am working to get OUT of this school district. I don’t have time for the ghetto-ness of this place! WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T MOVE INTO THE RICH SCHOOL DISTRICT!

I have two children attending. One is a senior and the other is a sophomore. I will give RICH Central 9/10 due to every conflict my children had, was resolved by a staff member. I must say, RC band is outstanding #1. Also both of my children are honor roll students seen they walked in RC. Come from a city school.

I have 2 daughters that attend this school. One is a freshman and one is a junior. The bullies bully my girls mentally and physically and the teachers, deans, and principals do nothing, all you hear from them is that there is not much they can do to eliminate this problem, but quick to suspend/expel for defending one self. The staff is friends with the students preventing them from doing the job that their paid to do. The staff at Rich Central H.S is paid to teach and protect the children for they come for an education , not for the fight club, but no one is doing their job to eliminate the problem, they take everything so lightly and always saying its little that they can do to stop this, but they know how to do something when a student defend themselves, which is suspension or expulsion. Ha!! how ???? when the people that is paid to protect and teach go along with the bullies.... this needs to change... staff needs to be replaced!!!

I believe this district has dramatically changed for the worse. The students run the schools. The state needs to come in and clean house and get back to basics to restore order. The students who do not belong in the district should be removed immediately. I worked there for many years and it is my belief that there is no parent student accountability. The students receive a subpar education and are not prepared for college. Betty Owens should not be on the board.

I am so glad my daughter goes to a Catholic school in this district. The review signed by a 'teacher' on Sept. 9, 2012, is all I need to know about the credentials of this school. The review is laden with poor sentence structure, language usage, and run-on sentences. No teacher at this level could teach a student anything about English and writing.

I am a previous staff member at RC, and I witness a school board that had no knowledge of what the teachers and the students were doing, the board is the reason why this school is failing, the board never comes and sit in a class to help assess the need of the children, the curriculums are design by the board which is not appropriate for the students, the board gives orders, and thats all they do, those people over there has no idea on providing and producing quality students, the board is only concern with looking good to the public, while RC falls behind every year. Its absolute shame, parents allow this continuity of failure with this school being on academic probation for years, how many kids will graduate from RC no knowing how to write a proper paragraph, sentence structure, speaking poor english, cannot read, and I mean CANNOT read, grades are being changed to dodge the honest true about this school. I blame the entire awful mess on the board, who thinks having a MILLION DOLLAR office building is more important than our children education. That a huge waste of tax dollars, looking for answers ask the board, and they donot KNOW...........truly sad

I Am Unsatisfied With This School Academically, In RC The Students Are Barely Disciplined, The Teachers Seem Like Their Uneducated, And RC Is Just A Mess I Recommend Anyone To Go To Another School If You Want Your Child To Really Learn Something.

If there was a negative star rating for this school, I would so rate it that way. I have a sophomore daughter and she witnessed a boy lighting a girl's hair on fire last week. Now she is getting threats. First off, what kind of teacher or substitute in this case, let a child do that? And second, why is that kid still in school? The academics are poor at this school, and my daughter who is in all honors classes is not being challenged. The only class she is challenged in is Spanish III. I'm very disgusted with this school.

this is an average high school, its not the greatest but its not the worst. for the most part, everyone gets along and is well behaved. i can admit tho that the academics could be a lot more challenging and the teachers a lot more trained and qualified. also, its a bit unorganized. i love central tho. i feel like the people there are my family. the teachers and staff do try their best to push us to do our best. i do feel that i will have to teach myself certain things when it comes to college. for example i am a sophomore and in english we are still learning parts of speech which i feel is remedial for this age. but all in all Central is a fairly good school and i enjoy being there.

This school is terrible. The academics that are there dont not help the kids succeed in the next level. Sports are terrible, my son plays on the golf team and it is not even taught how to golf correctly.
