It’s sad that I have to post this review since I didn’t really want to but I feel it’s important to highlight some very important things that this school failed to do regarding the well being of my child. To be completely honest, I will be very brief in my assessment of what my child experienced here at Chisholm Trail. For one, she is a minority and I do believe this played a role in the treatment that was directed towards her from the staff members. As a result, it seems that there was some if not always, discrimination going on as well as mistreatment and mental abuse coming from staff members who were not properly informed or trained perhaps to deal with some of the issues that these kids face. Kids, who are minorities that is. But not only this, a lot of the concerns that my child had while they attended Chisholm were also not taken very seriously. Reports of inappropriate behavior & unwanted contact between them and some of the other students was also not properly addressed. This among other things are just some of the things, my child has experienced while attending Chisholm Trail, while she was a former student there. Because of this, I do not recommend this school to anyone whose child or children are minorities, but it is an individual’s choice whether to do so or not.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION. While I want to really like this school because of some great teachers, the bad outweighs the good. First, I think there are some really caring and helpful teachers & administrators here. But unfortunately, you have a number of other teachers that really could care less about the mental well-being of your child. Some of these negative reviews don't surprise me. There is no real interaction or interest in getting to know parents or students (unless you're a jock). So as I said, proceed with caution. It's not the worst school I've seen, but it's far from the best. Needs a lot of improvements to make this a better school, starting with caring and attentive teachers.

Worst school ever, the teachers don't do anything about bullying at all. The students are horrible and the staff is even worse. My autistic son was called ableist and racial slurs, assaulted, and humiliated because he is disabled. The teachers belittle him. He’s came to me crying telling me what they do to him at this school. He’s came home with tons of bruises and scars and it makes me sick to my stomach seeing the principal do nothing about it. My daughter has been sexually harassed and assaulted by both the students and the teachers. The teachers are extremely rude and inappropriate to the students. If any other parents are reading this, DO NOT send your child to this school! They do nothing about racism, bullying, sexual harassment or coronavirus at all. Im a single mother of 2 and it is absolutely unacceptable for this school to treat the students like this.

This has to be the best Middle School in Olathe. My son is in the 6th grade and he absolutely loves this school! My experience with middle school back in the 1900's (lol) was a building full of bullies. My son said there are no bullies at Chisolm Trail. I have talked about classes with Ms. Hufnagel, the new counselor, and she is very kind and has been a tremendous help. The teachers all seem laid back and happy with their jobs. The After School Clubs are very popular and I can tell the teachers have a passion for heading them. I appreciate WAH (Wild Cats After Hours), because it allows for a great environment to do homework and eliminates some heavy books in a backpack. My advice to the administrators is to continue doing exactly what you have been doing. Thank you!

I was the first 6th grade class to go into middle school at Chisholm trail and I truly loved it. Yes, I had some teachers that weren't the best and kind of rude. But there are always going to be those kind of teachers at every school. I truly had an amazing time at CST and it was one of the best schools. Now that I'm in high school I miss it a lot. But I also love my new school Olathe South High School. Chisholm was great and south is great. you'll kid will love it if they make the best of it! & stay out of pointless drama(drama is in every school) overall this a school I would recommend. This school is a joke! parents ask your child about the halls after school. if you have a problem and report it the school just gives you lip service. It is over run with constant bullying and harassment. would recommend parents to stay away from this school it has been the worst experience for my child. can't wait to be done with this joke of a school. It all starts at the top and goes down. Do I feel my child is safe at this school? Absolutely not! STAY CLEAR OF THIS SCHOOL!!!
