10 out of 10. We've been to SMSD prior and I have never experienced such a genuine loving teacher and staff as we did from Heritage Elementary. We hit the jackpot with Heritage

We came from a large, highly rated school in neighboring SMSD. Heritage blew them out of the water in every way: class sizes, classroom management, writing instruction, building wide PBIS that works, low key community events. My daughter is a quiet kid who never got to be a leader at her other, huge school. At Heritage, she got to be a leader and have her voice heard--invaluable! We were worried about the low achievement scores but really liked the house we were buying. Figured it was only two years until middle school and we could supplement at home. That wasn't necessary. Heritage did an amazing job educating my daughter. Numbers don't reflect the excellent teaching we experienced.

I've had 3 kids go through Heritage, with 2 currently still there. I feel like we hit the jackpot when we ended up at Heritage. We've been through 2 principals and the current is outstanding and proves himself daily to be an excellent administrator to the staff and mentor to the kids. We've had an overall excellent experience with the teachers as well. Beyond this, the school's parent/teacher org goes above and beyond to support the school. There are excellent community and fundraising events that are perfect for the community of families that obviously love Heritage as much as we do. If you have the opportunity to end up within Heritage's boundaries, do your family a favor and go for it. We've never once wished for a different school and often reflect on how lucky we are to have landed here.

Great school! Teachers and staff are friendly. MR. Mcfarland is an awesome, caring principal. The school has a great learning environment for all of our childrens needs.

Mr. McFarland is a wonderful principal. He is respectful and friendly towards the children, parents and staff. The teachers are very good at what they do. The school does amazing work getting the children and parents involved, such as the Fun Run, The Movie Plex, Cotton Candy Friday, the school carnival, etc. Basically, everything is revolved around the students, as it should be. All the staff goes out of their way to help the students in every way possible. The staff goes above and beyond their duties. My daughter loves school and so does every other child I've spoken to that attends Heritage Elementary School. It's truly an amazing school with an amazing staff. Mrs. Willett and Mrs. Robertson are wonderful teachers. We were lucky that our daughter was able to have them.

Our son is attending Heritage for his 1st Grade year, after going to Scarborough for his Kindergarten year. Heritage doesn't have full day kindergarten, where as the other school did. Our child has had some difficulty in school since he has ADHD. The teacher (Mrs Stanley), the Principal and the staff there has been very supportive and very good with helping our son succeed. He still slips up here and there, but they have been able to deal with it much better than his previous school. The office staff is friendly and supportive, the principal is very approachable, and the teachers are not only available to talk about your child, but they encourage communication, and solicit your input often. I give them 5 stars, and I think that they are well deserved.
