My daughter came over from Bayville School, and the education and acceptance she receives is incredible. She’s doing so well in her classroom, and all the staff members are so incredibly nice and always willing to help. Compared to Bayville School, this small town school is SO much better. My daughter gets her work done, can understand it because of the smaller class sizes, and the teachers WANT TO TEACH, and want the best for every student. Thank you OG school!!

Amazing school my son has excelled soo much thanks to it being a small school and great teachers. Would love to see more parental involvement though.

This school district's board president was publically ordered to step down after not meeting a background check & fingerprint requirement he was given a year to accomplish. This is the elected representative of the citizens & children in the district. The spokesman and representative of the board of education for this town. The administration lamely defended him with complaints against the state protocol. Meanwhile everyone else in the county complied. Only 16 bd of ed members in the entire state failed to comply with the rules. This kind of irresponsibility is inexcusable for a public offical. He should have been replaced. Instead the superintendent fought for his reinstatement. The entire situation casts an unprofessional light on the school & town and generally reflects poor leadership on the part of the superintendant/principal. so much for the blue ribbon.

Great school if your child is a good student. Not enough: special education teachers with modern training & credentials, support staff with same, up to date resources, materials & interventions for below average & special ed kids. Community & Administration is evidently more interested in keeping taxes flat than meeting the needs of kids other than those who can keep up appearances by scoring well on state tests. The lure of the small neighborhood school may be tempting, but Beware. If your kid can't learn the old fashioned way, it will be a struggle for your child and you if you attempt to advocate. Rocking the boat is forbidden!

Ocean Gate School was awarded the "Blue Ribbon" distinction earlier this school year. An accomplishment that less than 3% of the schools nationwide have attained. What a wonderful learning environment for my grandson. Each child is treated like the individual they are. The faculty and staff impart a love of learning and mutual respect to every person. Strong community involvement is encouraged. As you can see, I can't say enough good things about this school.

Ocean Gate school is very family and community oriented. The teachers and administrators care for and teach our children as if they were their own, which is how it should be. When educators are that vested in the children, you can actually see the children and community shine and the beginning of a very bright future.
